  3. 1 packet pop rocks + 1 can coke = Mikey's dead.
  4. At least he wasn't bivying on top of Cin slab.
  5. Black Ice couloir on the Big Titty. Non-existent.
  6. '79 Last of the breadloaves. Too bad it's NOT a vanagon. They take a Suby 2.0 or 2.1 pretty well and there are a couple places down in SoCal that make some tranny adapter plates for them. Real heat, real power, and they don't breakdown/have head gasket probs like the early watercooled ('83 1/2-'84) VWs. '87 Syncro Westy w' a suby engine conversion is a pretty sweet rig.
  7. If it's a single family dwelling, it depends on the zoning: RF, R10, R20, R7, R5 all have 30ft limitations and R2.5 has 35ft. However, this is for the dwelling itself. I assume outstructures are limited to the same restrictions. 29.30.020 of the Portland city code addresses accessory structures thus: "All accessory structures on residential property shall be maintained structurally safe and sound and in good repair. Exterior steps and walkways shall be maintained free of unsafe obstructions or hazardous conditions. " Here's a good place to start: http://www.portlandonline.com/planning/index.cfm?&a=64609&c=36238 TG, IPA. Thank you.
  8. I agree with JayB. Big oil makes lower profit margins than most industries. Nobody was bitching in the 90s when they were making shit for profits and dumping billions into capital expeditures that now produces the O&G. Their profits are global demand driven on volume and scarcity. A visual for you: Integrated O&G (i.e. XOM, CVX, COP, etc) profit margin is running about 7-10%. Refiners avg about 5%. Meanwhile, nobody's bitching about "price gouging" on shampoo, soap, razors, cereal, etc when most consumer staples companies are running margins in the same 7-12% ballpark. Politicians will adopt the populist rhetoric anytime it serves them. One side will attack supply constraints (GOP-drill ANRW) otherside will attack demand issues (DEM- CAFE stds). It's all intellecutally dishonest pandering.
  9. Keep that image handy, do ya Griz?
  10. Pffft. Guiness is crap. There are at least a dozen stouts in the PNW alone that kick Guiness's ass up and down the street. Probably the single most overrated beer I can think of...aside from Budweiser, which isn't really beer, because rice don't belong in beer. Bud is malt-saki.
  11. Marek, can you give a link to the site?
  12. First course: Wild Child Mushroom delight - puree 1oz dried psylocibe cubensis, add 150deg water to cover, steep 5 minutes, add mixture into half gallon of Purplesaurus Rex flavor kool aid. Consume. Second course: live music. Third course: beast with two backs.
  13. "Here's to you, Hu! Hahahhaaaa, I made a funny. Get it? You, Hu? I'm cracking myself up. Buuuurrrrpp"
  14. Where you goin little feller? We ain't done clearin' brush yet, chow time's not til half past. Now get back to work coolie.
  15. No Don, I'm not really into classical. I enjoy it and listen to the local classical hour bit on our NPR station every day, but much prefer jazz, rock, funk, alt-country. The list came from this site, which has alot more as well, it's supposed to be a "best of/modern guide" type listing: http://www.scaruffi.com/music/modern.html He also has some other pages on jazz and other genres.

  17. Forget "composers" go with "decomposers". Listen to "Miles in Tokyo" from '64 with Sam Rivers on tenor, or Cecil Taylor "Unit Structures", Mingus's Black Saint and the Sinner Lady and Thelonius Alone in San Francisco. The cello thing has 4 strings right? Pick that oversized violin up and slap me out some funk lines.
  18. You want foreclosures, look at Denver. They just got a 30+% YOY increase. And we're just getting started. At some point, everyone who could afford to be in, is in...then who will buy. It's like sentiment indicators...when EVERYONE is bullish, sell because there's nobody left to buy and the top is in. Seattle, like much of the nation, also has declining real wage rates. Even being the "best educated city" in the country. Median home price recently topped 400k in KingCo if I'm not mistaken and income/home price affordability metrics are at about 20yr lows. Solution: Rent.
  19. First you get inventory build, then you get price drops
  20. Well Cocoa...let's hear what the lenders have to say on the matter: Source: http://home.businesswire.com/portal/site...amp;newsLang=en
  21. Gareeee! You mis-spelled toolz.
  22. There is apparently an executive order that allows "Shooter" Cheney to unilaterally declassify also. At least that's what he claims. The Spec. Prosecuter is Patrick Fitzgerald, not Fitzwater (Marlin Fitzwater was the press Sec. for Reagan and Bush41). Bush was questioned already, with his lawyer present. Fitzgerald was appointed by James Comey, who was in charge when Ashcroft the asshat was hospitalized. Fitzgerald is by all accounts a crack prosecuter with no partisan affiliations (the guy has an impressive prosecutorial record, check him out).
  23. It's like carpentry...measure twice, cut once. Try out different brands, then buy what you like regardless of price. You won't regret the extra 5 or 10 bucks.
