  1. Shouldn't this thread be titled "A new low in ice climbing"?

    Tsunami evac

How stylish...except... You can't see the ocean from Arcata. Humboldt Bay maybe.
  5. No... This is rude...
  6. Probably all you'll ever want to know about it...
  7. Maybe this...?
  8. That's one ugly route. Appropriate name though...
  9. Ain't that the truth.
  10. Jam the knot against the link and rap the single rope on the other side would work. Why you'd want to do this versus using a rap/belay device is another question... And, uh...
  11. Incoherence is a good refuge for you.
  12. Does Feathered Friends make these?
  13. The ski tracks are splitter also... Access is mostly trail with a small bit of schwack, in WA. We counted no less than 5 waterfalls. The north facing aspect provides some serious water ice potential, if you're into that. Gray on gray with snow mix makes for bad pics (as does my photoshop skills)... Hopefully Mike will post some hi-res images from that high-dollar camera he totes.
  14. The other half...
  15. Just left of Silent Running is a 5 pitch route called Revolver... 5.8+, 5.8, 5.9+, 5.8, 5.10a (according to David Whitelaw's guide) Right of Total Soul (and joining after 4 pitches) is Penny Lane ... 5.7, 5.8, 5.10a, 5.10b/c (according to David Whitelaw's guide)
  16. Summit of Vesper.
  17. Ignoramus.
  18. If you do Centerfold, rap Centerfold. Blues cliff is in the shade, for the most part. Most pitches on Centerfold get full sun.
  19. It's not that easy to spot, but here's a pic of it...

    the senate is lame

Off topic, but something somebody sent to me I found interesting: Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it. You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their themselves. So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan. In more recent years, no congressperson has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan. For all practical purposes their plan works like this: When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die. Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments. For example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7,800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275,000.00 during the last years of their lives. This is calculated on an average life span for each of those two Dignitaries. Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives. Their cost for this excellent plan is $0.00. NADA....ZILCH.... This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds; ”OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK"! From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into,-every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer)-we can expect to get an average of $1,000 per month after retirement. Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator! Bill Bradley's benefits!
