  1. you obviously don't live in the us. in some states you kind of are "obligated" if you have any training.
  2. oh yeah; i had forgotten about the recycled pasta.
  3. just buy a package of wet wipes and you'll be fine. smelling fresh as a baby in no time!
  4. now, THAT is NOT the kind of recycling i had in mind!
  5. snow peak gigapower is a great little stove and has an awesome windscreen that you can buy for it. heavy if you're counting grams, but imho it's worth its weight if you're fighting wind.
  6. yeah; you can buy a pretty good amount of liquor for $40.36. keep that recyling up!
  7. ha, ha; sweet tower! find any hobbits up there?
  8. that's all pretty gross. thanks for sharing.
  9. crack problems? yah i would say so.
  10. vancouver is actually a pretty cool city when you need that city fix. seattle is cool, too ... but for crying out loud don't end up in the 'ham!!!
  11. well, i'm not all that hot for scott's avatar (seriously, she's not my type!) ... but i'm still here. if someone's going to judge this whole website because of one dude's avatar, foul language, or overbearing dirty mind ... well, yeah; they're probably not going to like this site! seriously, though ... i thought that was scott's sister!
  12. thanks for the write-up. i've really only heard good stuff about pro ski. i agree with fern, though, and i'm glad she brought it up. there were a couple of snowshoers in my avy level 1 course here. it made things more difficult logistically for them, but the ski patrol was pretty cool about getting them where they needed to be via snowmobile. i think people putting these courses on should definitely be expanding their target crowd to include those who aren't venturing into the bc necessarily to expert ski - like snowshoers ... and especially snowmobilers.
  13. yes, they are. it's funny because i climb with people all the time who have never seen the spinballs. they usually figure it out, but you have to wonder about the ones who can't! sometimes the spinners get sticky so i think it'd be nice to have some screwgates, too, but the spinballs are very sweet. mr. skip: i like the am'd because it's big and beautiful. they are big enough to be useful for just about any and everything i'd want a locker for but not annoyingly big - if that makes any sense. (they also have an "exceptional strength to weight ratio".) the william is quite a bit heavier and just feels bulky to me. the attache can be nice for simple anchors (and i use them on my adjustable daisies), but the pear shape coupled with it's small size causes stuff to bunch up at the bottom ... which can be annoying. i've also had trouble getting the attache to fit into some chains and bolts because of the circumference of the tubing and the width of the top part of the pear, whereas i've never had any trouble getting the am'd to fit. just my own opinions and experience ...
  14. gaiters!
  15. here, too.
  16. what about late april? huh?
  17. i'm "originally" from seattle (lived there for nearly 13 years), but i'll be headed for squamish as soon as my telluride winter is officially over. i sure wish there was more of it left to get more wi in first, though! i don't know about the social life there, but i think everything else is close enough to make it worth it.
  18. talk about a plan!
  19. i got my new collection of yates screamers today. they are sure pretty.
  20. says i'm a "pretty serious climber" gee, learning all sorts of things about myself today.
  21. they were only 6.33% confident with their answer for me. wtf? oh, well; some of those questions are pretty f'ing funny.
  22. umm ... ... never mind!
  23. i honestly don't really feel like i missed out on anything.
  24. that weirdo ain't no canuck!
  25. out of the box i would go with "really" tight as opposed to "painfully" tight. mythos will stretch as much as they need to and i really don't think there's any advantage to making them stretch more. (along the lines of what dbb said, "really" tight out of the box will likely be painful after a few pitches until they're broken in.)
