  1. well maybe most of the month sucks, but the end of it is when the good stuff starts. i'm looking forward to my first 4-day weekend since i started this job. FINALLY!!! and two paid days off of work, too. november is for making fires in the fireplace and snuggling on the couch. and buying ski gear ...
  2. Maybe it's a little cliche, but I know there are many of us not-so-famous folks who would relish the experience of going to Everest nonetheless.
  3. ecrin roc for comfort and range of use. nice to be able to use it with or without a hat and still have it fit correctly.
  4. well, park city ain't anyway. but at least you're gonna be close to some grand skiing. i've heard the bc there is pretty nice!!!
  5. why pc? couldn't you just hitch a ride to brighton or the bird? or take a taxi to the base of the canyon and hitch from there? it could have been so worth it ...
  6. go skiing. oh, wait ... you're actually sick?
  7. we showed up early and peeked in but also didn't see any movies and hardly anybody was there, so we went and had dinner, came back and peeked in again ... and still no movies.
  8. seth, if you're going to start skiing like chris, get a pair of freerides or naxos. i would think your skiing style (among other things) will matter more than the width of your skis when it comes to selecting the right binding. btw, have YOU ever had problems with your dynafits? why you don't you take your friend's freerides on a few runs and see what you think? are you going to leave your dynafits on your old skis? you could just have two setups - one beefy; one not so beefy. btw, from what i know of you i don't think 3.5 lbs are really going to slow you down much.
  9. i believe it. why did i move back to seattle???
  10. bump ... for tonight. might see some of y'all there ... unless you're at warren miller.
  11. i wouldn't call sean isaac an irreverant old man, and i've heard nothing but good reviews from my friends who've done clinics there. you know ... there's always something new to be learned ...
  12. i'm planning to go! vangroovy's an easy drive from seattle ...
  13. a bunch of you gave me recommendations but i could use some more. unfortunately none of the ones i got before are in my provider list. anybody else got some good general practice dentists they'd recommend? thanks!
  14. sounds like a nice day out. would have preferred that to sitting in front of the box at work. thanks for the tr!
  15. haven't been this year, but i went there quite a few times when i was first learning and you could definitely find stuff over 15 feet. good dirty fun!
  16. it's a $20 donation at the door, yes? i would think it couldn't "sell out" until they've let the max people in the door.
  17. i bought the brio 70 before going to the waddington range this spring. i figured it would cost me just as much (or less) than renting a pack from somewhere. it's actually not a bad pack, especially at the price.
  18. sorry, rumr; skiing f'ing kicks ass! WOOHOO!!! nectar's a short walk from my house, and the movie's only 5 bucks and will offer some yummy freeheel action ...
  19. you sure are asking for a lot if you want all of that at 2 lbs for free. if you're carrying tools, don't you also need room for some pro and maybe some rope? seriously, though, if you're done looking at bd and all of "those" kinds of packs, you might check out what osprey has to offer ... but they're not really cheap, so you might not.

    how f***ing annoying!
  21. the week before is also busy. just get up early and you'll be able to get on what you want, though. people were pretty friendly last year, sharing ropes here and there. (the guided groups tend to hog areas of lines, though.) ice fests can be fun because you get to climb next to the best of the best and see old friends and make new ones and ...
  22. i would like to know same. i am very attracted to both skis. anybody???
  23. nice tr! i was able to bypass the unbelievably long line outside and start up on the red bull and vodka sooner than most folks. i actually missed a good deal of the movie due to catching up with old (and meeting new) friends. i thought tgr (with the help of evogear and the summit) put on a pretty good movie-watching party, and i am really looking forward to the ski season!
