  1. Harsh. Warm thoughts in memory ...
  2. i'm in no need of any additional sausage, thank you.
  3. yeah, griz, gotten any marriage proposals yet? i think we need more information about where griz works and the kind of females that are employed there before we can really yay or nay his activities ...
  4. now why would i want two jobs? i don't even want one!

    NW Winter

in the city [of seattle] fall and winter are basically the same except winter has less leaves. when i first moved here there was actually snow in the city ...
  7. what is that? a burning snowboard???
  8. my job is boring. this could get me fired. while on the one hand that sounds splendid, i wouldn't be eligible for unemployment ...
  9. local indeed. but where are the skiers???
  10. somebody's trying to stop all the snow dancing! well, not even those ugly maps and a belly full of tryptophan will stop me!!!
  11. i'm with lg. i was wishing i could fast forward through most of the low-angle stuff. after incognito it felt a little slow ... but still nice to see people freeing their heels.
  12. yes, i miss this, too. knowing which threads have recent messages you haven't read yet is really useful!
  13. wow. that is great that gary's wallet got returned to his family. the climbing community can seem so small and cordial sometimes.
  14. i tried to hike that mountain once. unfortunately i missed a very important turnoff at the start and ended up on top of mount defiance instead. oops! nice views from up there, though. nice to hear there's freshies up there!!!
  15. i also recommend lake serene - a nice short hike just to the waterfall and a bit farther to the lake, and an easy way to introduce the non-outdoorsy some local beauty. also recommend the north cascades hwy - ooh, aah. also recommend even driving up to the pass (snoq. or stevens) or all the way out to l-worth if you're into that sort of thing. if you don't mind a longer drive and maybe a nice ferry ride, the spit recommended above is a really nice way to see some of the more coastal part of wa. the Lake Ozette/Cape Alava/Sand Point Loop hike out on the coast is very cool - longish but very flat. would probably be pretty chilly this time of year, but walking on beaches is always nice and the ferry ride might afford some good views, too.
  16. the fuse has vents to regulate temps and is extremely comfortable ... but i would not use it for ice or rock climbing beyond any scrambling or short "non-technical" stuff i might need to overcome to continue my ski ascent/descent. i do hope, though, that my fuse would offer me some protection were i to take a big header into a tree!
  17. what are you? canadian? i would guess TG means ThanksGiving. time to give thanks in advance for all of that wonderful snow we're going to get this season!
  18. very nice! great poem and really sweet art.
