  1. Lawgoddess answer me this question. When I was a strappin teenager (almost 20 years ago) I went to several dance clubs. I noticed girls laying on the outside assuming they wanted to dance but were never asked. So I asked them. They always turned me down! Now why would a person go to a dance club and not dance? so you think that just because a person goes to a dance club they should want to dance with just anyone? i'm not trying to be a bitch, but i would rather dance alone than with some strange guy i'm not interested in - no matter what he looks like.
  2. i seem to recall a projector at the last slide show i saw at schultzy's ...
  3. that's the point! if you like someone ask them out; don't play stupid games until you're 100% sure they'll say yes before you ask. you could lose a lot of chances that way. just go for it and see if it goes ...
  4. sturtevant's doesn't offer very many deals, but what they do offer is good boot fitting. and if they f**k up they'll do what they can to fix the problem. martin is still there as far as i know. and nobody there gets commission - they are all about service (it is the east side after all) and they know that a happy customer will not only return but spread the word.
  5. men in southern states actually ask women out on dates. men in the nw are either cowards or think it's the woman's job. btw, if i woman doesn't show interest ... well, i would assume she's probably not interested.
  6. that's disgustingly sick. how come everybody else is getting to ski already???
  7. so then the questions becomes, what do the intellectuals do now?
  8. smartwool makes awesome socks. you don't really need liners if you've got the right socks. wool is best as it won't harness stench over time. watch out for socks with annoying seams that may be an issue and cause hot spots. also, stay away from socks that are so thick your boots are really tight as this inhibits circulation (which makes your feet colder).
  9. we actually had a job candidate tell us this morning she was not going to live her anymore with bush as president. she is selling her house and moving to canada. lucky for her she has dual citizenship ...
  10. one commentary i saw said any state not near water was likely to vote republican. maybe they're just dehydrated.
  11. i would have taken the manager option at that point! don't know nothing about the sku. i called auburn yesterday - said a friend of mine told me they had some skis on clearance that i was interested in and i wanted to see if they had a pair in my size. they transferred me to the "seasonal" department where i told them the same thing. the guy put me on hold, walked over and looked, came back and said they were orange and they did have them. then i asked him some questions he couldn't answer so he put someone else on the phone and she's having them shipped to the bellevue store for me with my name and phone number on them. pretty easy and painless. i'd try again if i were you - maybe the guy you talked to was just having a bad day.

    Exit Polls

    who'd you vote for, dru?
  13. i rarely watch that show but i happened to see that one and it was pretty damned funny.
  14. the summer 2004 issue ofthe wilson quarterly has some articles about smarts. one of them highlights some interesting observations about presidents and their iq's ... and how the best presidents won't have a super-high iq. interesting stuff.
  15. you might call the store that has them and ask them to ship to bellevue. (that's what i did with auburn - they still have 163's and 170's there.)
  16. thanks, russ! i'd only skied them on a huge pow day, and while i was impressed with their performance there, i really wanted to hear about their performance on the not-so-fluffy stuff. i'm having the auburn gart sports ship a pair closer to home ... WOOHOO!
  17. i'm impatient, too, and dreaded how long the lines might be after work so i managed to squeeze my voting in right at 7am ... and still make it back home and to work on time. whew!
  18. they are convenient ... even if you only come out at one inopportune moment. also convenient for when your boots are intentionally out of your bindings. (like before you put them on or while you're having lunch, etc.)
  19. Dru, that is uncool to post pics like that without warning. Definitely not work safe. i agree.
  20. yeah; a little pricey perhaps, but it's not such a stretch from the cost of a regular movie these days. sometimes it helps to think of your entertainment in terms of cost per hour and determine if it's worth it to you from there. getting into the movie ... $12. some drinks ... $20. fun with friends and wintertime stoke ... priceless.
  21. poster says $12 adv/$13 door. i think it's a good idea to have the "after" party in the same venue.
  22. i remember the comp monos being offset. i don't know why they wouldn't be. s/b same for the rambos.
  23. interesting that you say that because i feel the purple ones also perform better than the g3's. i didn't realize the purple skins were different from the bovine ones. if they are, maybe the best thing would be to go with the purples and buy the optional sts tail system to replace the clipfix one?
  24. brakes - definitely. crampons - nice to have. (not sure how the diamir-related brakes work but with naxo bindings heel-lift is inconsequential.) skins - i have bd clipfix on my tele setup and g3's on my at setup. the g3 tail system is awesome, but i think the bd skins are better. my next set will be bd glidelites ...
