quote: Originally posted by COL. Von Spanker: I'm open to any other suggestions of fun activities. i've got some suggestions for ya. unfortunately they would require you taking me with you. i do have a climbing partner who goes down there every once in awhile to ski/climb some moderate stuff in the sierra's - i'll get you two in touch via e-mail.

quote: Originally posted by sketchfest: having not heard from anyone yet seems a little odd. Were the treacheous mountain pass's to difficult to get back over? that's 'cause most of them are still there ... duh! the pass was wet and dark last night, but nothing to be an issue. the weekend was filled with a few sprinkles, an intermittent chilly biting wind, and some cold fingers ... but the climbing was super. thanks tex and timl for getting me on some "hard" stuff!

i studied architecture there, but not for very long. finances forced me to leave - sob, sob. i have such fond memories of that school, though!!! including my first blackout at one of theta xi's toga parties ... (damn that jim beam!!!)

i already did a search and didn't find exactly what i was was seeking. anybody done this route recently? (or not so recently?) you can pm me ...

i ain't no closet fan; i'm totally out with my hokie-ness. it was the first school i went to out of high school ... and i used to lift weights five days/week with those big guys!

You are WAY over anxious about this whole ice thing.[QB] fuck you, god. i know you're trying to get me all riled up but it's not going to work. i will free solo, solo tr, and drytool whatever the fuck i want. i haven't claimed to be any more experienced than i am when it comes to ice climbing. i actually do know my own experience level and am (unfortunately for some perhaps) not trying to kill myself. just because i'm enthusiastic and seeking as much hands-on experience wherever i can doesn't mean i'm over-anxious. so fuck off, fucker ... and kiss my ass.

aggies ain't got no chance. too bad the sooners won't get to kick those whiny-assed hurricanes where it hurts ... (watch for the hokies to do it on december 7th, though!)

lambone, if i don't skip town and the bulk of humanity for an extended weekend, i'd be up for exploring the caves (or lake thereof) with you. i'm cursed with always having mondays off ...

quote: Originally posted by Jason Martin: Numerous slabby somewhat low angle lines exist here. low-angle enough for free-soloing??? (and if not, any tr-able stuff where i can make use of my silent partner???) and freeclimb9, i don't mind astrogliding. btw, how's the forecast for utah this weekend? i'm antsy for the ice over there, too!

quote: Originally posted by Dru: Setting up anchors in your furniture is a great skill which can be applied both to whiling away tentbound days in the mountains, and bedroom antics involving ropes i wasn't saying having a private rope-up with your furnishings isn't a bad thing; i'd just personally rather be outside. and dru, there are MUCH more interesting things to do in the bedroom with ropes than setting up anchors.
