    OU sucks

Well, since the game won't be worth watching, maybe we should head out to Smith next weekend! I am actually already planning on it.

    OU sucks

Ducks will have their way with the Dawgs next weekend!
  3. Almost went over to Smith on Saturday, but after fishing all morning on the Umpqua, was exhausted and it was sprinkling on Sunday over there. Heard Friday and Sat. were nice though! B/W 5 of us, we hooked into 29 fish! Landed 10 adult wild coho (had to let them go) 2 steelhead (hatchery),eight wild Coho jacks (let them go out of good karma even though you can keep them), and three large coastal cuts. All in all, a good morning of fishing! Sunday went and played in the freshies at Santiam Pass!

    OU sucks

My Ducks suck a fat one I guess the COugs deserve a win every now and then since they hadn't won one in the last 4 years- three of those being in Pullman. Gesser sucked but damn can those receivers (I mean Basketball players)sky. And WSU's running game ain't bad after you get past the hype given to Gesser. His heisman candidacy is over after his performance. All I hope for now is that Ohio ST. or Miami looses. Actually, I hope Tech wins against Miami, b/c I don't think WSU has a chance against the 'Canes, but I think could take Ohio St.!
  5. Don't you know all dirt roads lead to Blacksburg? That's what my Dad (UVa grad) always says to my Mom (Va Tech grad). But Uva football sucks and Suggs went to my highschool in Roanoke, so I will always route for Tech over anyone other than the Ducks. Let's hope they don't lose to 'Cuse this weekend. I'll be at the Uva/Tech game at Lane Stadium over Thanksgiving, so I'll shout out a gobble or two for y'all!
  6. I am still debating. Go to Smiff and bank on a break in the weather or go salmon fishin' in the morning on the Umpqua, watch Ducks kick the shit out of WA St. and go duck hunting on the Willamette Sund. morning. I will tlak to my friends who are climbing there today and see what they say. Every weather report I look at is different. If I don't end up coming the only reason is weather. I will be out there the first tolerable weather weekend we have coming after this one if I don't go today. I may also wait til manana and see what the weather is doing and head out early afternoon and climb on Sunday. Ideas anyone?
  7. There is no need for a guide if doing the Jamapa route, and bussing it may even be easier than renting a car. You can climb more peaks as well. I have limited Spanish and we were able to get around with no problems at all. The route is a walk-up except for the altitude which slowed me down, but no more technical than the South Side of Adams. Not steep- avg. around 35-40 at most. And very straightforward route. I didn't see a single crevasse on the entire Jamapa side! Plus you have the luxery of staying in a hut. Pretty posh climbing. Reminds me of Ecuador but less technical. Enjoy! The ladies around Vereacruz are great eye candy!
  8. Is there a closet Va Tech fan in the house? I don't know, with Jones out and the quaterback sucking, that is a big role for Suggs to handle all by himself. My parents have season tickets to the Hokies. I am hoping that Tech will lose to Miami and then they will be forced to play the DUcks in a bowl game.
  9. You think climbers would mind if we threw out a few decoys and started calling in birds on the Crooked right in front of Morning Glory Wall?
  10. SO, anyone want to comment on the forecast? Check out Noaa's web forecast Looks like snow and rain? I'll give a call to some firends who are out there today and get back to anyone hesitating on going out there. Hey GregW, if it is raining, why don't we just find a good place to do some duck hunting? Then we could feed all our cold and shivering brethren at the Grasslands! Blue Grouse wouldn't be a bad idea either. We could train Cavey's pup in the process!
  11. Yeah! What's up with the weather forecasters! Sounds like an easy job to me. You never have to be accountable for what you say and it is not a bad thing that you are completely off as everyone always cusses you anyways. Here's my weather forecast for the next year: From December-April it will be mostly cloudly in the Willamette Valley with periods of light rain on and off with his in the 60s and lows in the 30s. From April to June, partly sunny with scattered showers throughout the day his in the 70s lows in the mid-upper 40s. From June to October Sunny all day every day with no rain, no clouds, his in the hi 70s to low 80s lows in the mid to upper 50s with a cold spell in between or occasional thundershower in the late afternoon. Oct to December, mostly sunny with periods of clouds and light showers, his in the hi 50s to low 60s getting cooler in the evenings. Now pay mea salary so I can go climb for the winter somewhere WARM!See ya at Smith- that is unless the weather report changes for the 100th time this week.
  12. Too bad all those desert caves are closed to climbers, yet left open to cavers and kids partying, and motor cross assholes! Actually, Timmay or others who live in Bend, know anything about the few caves that are still open to climbers? I am guessing they stay dry during rain!
  13. I top roped a lot of ice before I started leading. My first leads came in Lee Vining. My first lead was The Right Side WI3/4 with my second lead being Chouinard Falls WI4. That was my limit and until I start ice climbing on a more regular basis, I don't see myself leading any hard than that. I have followed WI5 before and knowing what I know now about leading, I don't think I could do it. At least not until I become more efficient at placing screws! Enjoy the early ice. I'll wait until January. There is still plenty of rock to be climbed for me!
  14. Still planning on coming. Will call Redpoint on Friday afternoon. If not, then I will be at Smith next weekend for sure. Pray for no rain, only freshiez in the mountains.
  15. Oh don't get me wrong. It has to rain this weekend, other wise I will be out watering 1,000 freshly planted seedlings this weekend instead of Duck hunting or climbing at Smith. My mind is focusing on Freshiez!!!!!! We need it!
  16. Every piece is custom tailored unless you buy it off the rack! Every order he takes, they ask for your messurements (his ploy of picking up chicks I guess!). Seriously, who makes custom-fit schoeller? Only other company I have heard that custom fits ya is FF.
  17. Well, SMith might make up your mind for ya, Dru! I lloked on two weather forecasts for Redmond and Terrebone and it looks like rain Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It doesn't rain often at Smiff, but there is a pretty large system coming in. Too bad it is not overhanging sandstone instead of Tuff! I may be going duck hunting this weekend instead. Hey y'all if it does rain this weekend, then maybe we can make plans to meet up at Smith next weekend! I will be there this weekend if its not raining.
  18. If you want to try out an up and coming company with excellent prices making custom fit fleece and schoeller jackets for about 1/3 of the cost of major name brands, check out Beyond Fleece out of Eugene. The guy who owns it is in his mid-twenties and started making his own fleece jackets b/c of the cost for name brands. Then his friends wanted them, then Outdoor groups like ski teams etc.. wanted them and now he has his own company. He does not advertise, but got a free ad from Backpacker Magazine as the editor's choice award for best clothing gear. He went from one staff to eight in a year and makes everything in Eugene, custom tailored for you. Check out http://www.beyondfleece.com/ for more info. Pretty sweet gear. Oh yeah, the founder and owner doesn't even make a salary. He puts everything he makes back into his business and only takes enough to pay rent and food. Doesn't even own a car! Pretty dedicated to his product!

    Nutria

We shoot 'em as we float down the river when the fishin' is bad. Makes for good shooting/target practice. Damn invasive species will inherit the Earth!
  20. Well, it would depend. Because a donkey punch only works if your significant other isn't expecting it. She may be a little warry after the first one from me!
  21. I believe that "donkeypunch" is a little more derogatory than "double penitration."
  22. I think the best way to honor DP is to perform a DP with our significant others. What better way to honor our fallen brethren? God, I hope no one with the name Dirty Sanchez has to Fall! My girlfriend might actually break up with me over that one!
  23. There was an earlier SUV (Ford or Jeep?) that had the background of Torres del Paine National Park (along Lago Grey) in the background. I know this was not filmed there b/c there is no way to drive where they showed the SUV. Just superimposed the SUV going over rough terrain with the background of the Towers. Could this be what happened in this commercial? Amazing things can be done with film these days.
  24. I was always told not to drive at night on roads other than major toll roads b/c you have to go through towns and could potentially be stopped by bandits who will steal everything you have. I had a friend down in Argentian who drove his ride from Minnesota down there. He outfitted his truck with wiring over the windows and had a friend place a lock b/w his hood and the frame so that no one could go under his hood and steal his engine. He also had a mechanism on his battery that could be manually turned off under the Hood so when he left the car for a period of time (he was mainly down ther to paddle the Rivers) he wouldn't worry about anyone stealing his truck, b/c the juice was shut off. It was about as secure as you could make it, but I don't know if that is necessary for a trip like this. Enjoy.
