OH MY GOD!!! I was startin to go into Withdrawal! I even did some WORK today
  3. Lets face it it is the ass end of climbing season right now, no ski, no climb rock, no ice. So we are all fervently talking climbing and chestbeating etc. cause we cant actually climb. SO to get the real bruising of the ribcage going the topic is: what 5 climbing accomplishments are you most proud of over the past year, also what was your biggest failure of the year? mine 1) snootli express 2) niut range trip, finally made it into the REAL COAST RANGE 3) Castle Mountain in the Rockies finally! that trip was maybe funnest trip of the year. 4) mad science at the rehabs, been eying up that line for about 7 years now 5) 3rd pitch of gibraltar wall rock variation with only a spectre hooked in a crack for pro and the big failure is a toss up between a) bailing off Slesse yet again or b)not climbing Queen Bess, hell, not even hiking in to Queen Bess
  4. real alpin hardman is too trad to sportclimb also the lycra makes his legs look too fat.
  5. www.fitovers.com They cost like $40 CDN and they are good enough for 16 hour days on glaciers in mid summer with no UV effects to the eye.

  7. I took out over an acre of forest near Scuzzy with a huge boulder off the top hitting a scree covered ledge and setting the whole thing in motion off a 500m cliff. Sort of like bowling with a shotgun.
  8. I think its raining below 1300m and the face starts at sea level more or less...

  11. Winter climbing was popular when the gear to climb water ice wasnt very good? the last few years everyone has been locked into going to Lillooet every weekend even the 3 weekends when alpine conditions were perfect (solid snow and no avalanche hazard) I mean, this was in perfect shape last year and no one climbed it!

    Ice?

    M. Layton and I visited secret cirque today and only one little pillar was half-formed. The wet snow covered slab below deterred any thoughts of dry tooling up to the ice. We also checked out some areas up Hwy 3. No ice at Sumallo Bluffs, and wet rock and unformed pillars at Gibson Pass.
  16. This is one of the best TRs I have seen in a long time. The pathos...the humor...the Euro take on Cascade mountaineering... Compare it to the recently posted TR for the same route on scott'teryx site. Very educational!
  17. Ass In A Bun?
  18. I heard they were mostly 55 degree snow with some WI 3 or mixed to get around a rock step.

He went out to live in the world or die trying, and he died. But the fact he was a hippy type is extraneous. Ive seen plenty of rednecks that dont know jack squat about living in the woods either. Mostly in the Chilliwack valley on summer weekends
