  1. Last time I noticed Snoboy was from Canada too, even though he has a British passport.
  2. I guess everyone reads the same Savage Love columns.
  3. Its probably near Negro Lesbian and Black Dyke, I would think from the name.
  4. Either specialed lost one of his Axars at the base of Polar Circus, or the Canmore doo-rag wearer who sold us the 0.5 oz stole it.
  5. Im not that old. But they used beef tallow in em up until a year or two ago, and advertised them as vegetarian nonetheless. Some British Hindus sued (cow is sacred eh) and won big time $$$ payout. Take that, evil clown! Oh yes,
  6. Note the two everest Uncorked events (first weekend) will overlap date-wise with the Ice Fest.
  7. The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival will be hosting its 6th Annual event on February 14-22, 2003. This year's program is incredibly packed and varied: * The two kick-off "Everest Uncorked" evenings "The Legacy" and "The Arena" will be dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Everest's first ascent and to the 40th anniversary of the first North American ascent. The guest speakers include Peter Hillary; Conrad Anker (on Mallory & Irvine in 1924); Jim Whittaker (1st American ascent in 1963); Peter Habeler (1st oxygenless ascent in 1978); Poland's Leszek Cichy (1st winter ascent in 1980); Sharon Wood (1st Canadian and North American woman in 1986); Zelda Skylark (the conqueror of all the peaks on Earth whose name starts with the letter "E"); and British climber-writer "MC" Ed Douglas ("Chomolungma Signs the Blues" and others). One of the scopes of the series is to explore what happened to exploring "The Ultimate Hump" over the course of the last century. Part of the series will be a panel discussion with all speakers. * Other festival speakers include Barry Blanchard (on alpine climbing in the Canadian Rockies); Timmy O'Neill aka Urban Ape (on his fastest ascent in Yosemite and Patagonia); Jerry Kobalenko (on Ellesmere Island); and local heroes Jim Milina (Kilimanjaro), Jeremy Frimer (1st ascent of Orion Spur on Mt Logan), and Guy Edwards (Swachand in India). Peter Habeler and Leszek Cichy will speak about their lifetime high-altitude climbing careers, and Conrad Anker about his technical climbs and the Antarctic adventure in the footsteps of Sir Ernest Shackleton. * The "Over the Hills But Still Climbing" evening will feature the early North Shore explorers. One evening will be dedicated to mountain biking only (stage acrobatics, slide show, and films). The Edge Climbing Centre will host their Krankenstein 2003 climbing contest. * List of festival films will be available after the selection process at the end of January 2003. * If you have still images and/or mountain movies please ENTER THEM NOW! The entry deadline is January 15 for films and January 23 for photographs ("VIMFF Mountain Photo Contest, Presented by MEC"). Entry forms can be downloaded from www.vimff.org or obtained upon request at info@vimff.org. (Please ignore this note if you have already submitted your artwork.) * Tickets are now on sale at Mountain Equipment Co-op in Vancouver (130 W Broadway), at (604) 984-4484, and online at www.vimff.org (Ticketmaster surcharges apply for online purchases). * The major festival sponsors include MEC, W.L.Gore and Associates, Inc., The Government of Canada, Celebration 2010, The District and the City of North Vancouver. 8. Without McDonalds etc. deep fry grease production, Kurt would have to find another source for his biodiesel supply.... if he was forced to use olive oil, itd be a lot more expensive.
  9. Trask: Did you know that there are people called "furries" who have the sexual perversion that they wish they were cartoon animals, and want to have sex with other cartoon animals? There is apparently a thriving market for mascot suits with crotch cutouts.
  10. AAAAh it brings a tear to my eye to see that Snoboy has ressurected such a beautiful thread. Sometimes I look at things I wrote and marvel that way back when I actually knew how to put two words together. NowaDAYS ITS ALL HORSECOCK AND SNAFFLEHOUNDS
  11. Replace income tax with fat tax on unhealthy food. Tax break for the healthy, not for the wealthy! This whole thread is ballz. Take it off life support, someone needy can use the organs.
  12. I didnt say all 10 were MY avatars.
  13. Regarding the grade of Coleman-Deming where exactly does the "approach" end and the "climb" begin for that route? At the glacier, or at the base of the Roman Wall or what? If you go with base of Roman Wall, its definitely a I. Otherwise it might be II or even III. This is one climb that the Euro system makes more sense for. I dont think it makes a difference for II-IV or for PD+ thru D. At D+ and above, the Euro grade tells you more than the NCSS does because there are D+, TD-, TD, TD+, ED1, ED2, ED3, ED4 instead of IV, V, VI, VII - 8 instead of 4 grades. And say you have two V, 5.10 A2 climbs, with a Euro grade you will know which of the two is harder. Personally I am leaning to rating everything V420 or 8=D.
  14. I only have 3 stars because 10 avatars rated me 5 stars each. If it wasnt for them Id be at 2 stars like all the cool folks.
  15. Or take the week off and beat the next storm cycle. No guarantees but something near Chil liwack might be climbed in the next few days

Re; guns and skiing, how come since the USA has so many skiiers and so many guns, but its always a Swede or a Canadian winning at Biathlon? Ski, shoot, ski, shoot. Maybe cause you have to use a rifle, not a shotgun, handgun, smart bomb or automatic weapon
