  2. Guided TJD: we are not making fun of your stance because we love guides. We are making fun of you because your posts are so fucked up grammatically it's hard to tell what you are saying. I get the idea you are opposed to guiding whether it be on a route that guides established (specifically Restless Native) or on a Mt. like St Helens. Just a tip but persuasiveness is considered a benefit when arguing a point. If no one can tell what your point is cause you are posting a bunch of garbled syntax, no one can agree with you.
  3. There is an absolute speed limit though; c

    So...

Useless "functionality". You could buy a lighter half or twin, and it'll get trashed fast if you use it as a single. Just like those amphibious cars - not very good boats, and slow and gas-guzzling on the highway.
  6. Also if there is no speed limit it's really hard to go 3 times the speed limit

  13. What about agreeing to go by the USGS-mapped boundary even if it is incorrect? How much in error is the boundary shown on the uSGS anyways? A couple hundred feet, inches, or miles?

  16. Rather - you should practice safe climbing by climbing on things within your ability level, not by flailing and aiding your way up things you can only climb safely by climbing in poor style.
  17. on the first ascent the ladders were longer though. the topo shows 33 bolts in total of which 30 are on the ladders. now that it is a freeclimb there are fewer bolts.. i think they only replaced one in two...
  18. "Hey, I heard boulderers do this too, only on rocks!" "Does that mean we are eXtreeeeeeeme?"
  19. but it isn't as long. you need to standardize holes per pitch.
  20. I want to know the hole count so I can compare it to a "traditional" bolted route route like the Grand Wall or the East Butt on SEWS
  21. 22 plus 15 plus 8 plus (2x7) plus 40 =99, round it off 100 bolts. yes or no? then 2-bolt anchors, let's say 21 anchors because of that bit in the middle - another 42 bolts, final total - 142.
  22. i must have been thinking of condorphlamin' addiction
  23. lets do the math! 23 pitch climb reportedly 12 bolts per pitch for 21 of the 23 pitches or something 12x23=288. let's just say 250 for simplicity's sake. time to drill one 3/8"x3" hole by hand = half an hour if your drill is sharp and your hammer is heavy time to drill with power drill = 30 seconds drill time for hand drill - 125 hours, or about two and a half weeks steady of eight hour days doing nothing but tap, tap, tap drill time for power drill (assumning extra battery packs) - 125 minutes, or about half a day including all the rapping and wrench tightening and so on! hmmm
  24. I see what you mean... nice Joffre pic jesse BTW
