    halfton loses 300 lbs.
  8. on the free Grand Wall you send the underfling then make a 13a crux move (so I'm told) to a no hands rest and clip the anchor from that. thus avoiding the problem. Since the regfular Grand has aid it is inappropriate to speak of redpointing it. We are talking sport ethics in this thread anyways. Please stay on subject.
  9. Scuba-diving is aid too Stefan. Don't bolt the coral!

your photo looks more like a to me than a edit -now i see those are "hand cheeks"
  11. I am contrasting the stand of snowmobile user groups, that campaign for increased terrain for sleds, to mattp's description of the WCC, which apparently exists to work in the other direction, taking policies that land managers set and enforcing them on climbers...
  12. Not sure where the wheelbarrow thing comes from since hand drills are PERMITTED in wilderness - where is the motor in a wheelbarrow?
  13. Grabbing the chains to clip is aid, except on routes where the chains are specifically intended to be clipped - and these routes are bogus. You should clip the chains free before you take in order to redpoint successfully. Anything else is weak
  14. Can anyone legally guide me up Willis Wall?
  15. exactly. if they publically advocate changing the law they will lose some climber support. but i imagine if they do NOT advocate to change the law they will still be supported by some of those those who still personally advocate changing the law
  16. Snowmobile groups argue for more snowmobiling in parks and so on.... Why shouldn't a climbers group argue for more climbing? Or the ability to place bolts via powerdrill instead of hand drill. Not that currently illegal practices should be ignored, but advocate for changing the law to permit?
  17. Technically - if you aren't redpointing but just working the route, then who cares. But if you are going for the redpoint/pinkpoint, to grab the draws or final chains invalidates the ascent. So it's good practice not to.
  18. exactly. aside from the hyberbole about slope angle the pictures are nice though
