tvashtarkatena Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Holy Indefinite Detention, Batman!!!! That's one for the away team. Quote
JosephH Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Two billion in gitmo costs and counting - all for maybe a dozen guys who were ever worth holding, and then only for long enough to try them in civilian courts and send them to your local neighborhood supermax. It's all part of the enduring W clusterfuck we are still stuck with thanks to moronic republicans. And let's not even get into us holding prisoners there on China's behalf... Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 (edited) A statement made by one detainee during a rare, unmonitored phone conversation with his attorney: Gitmo is killing me Our resident Freedom Fiterz might think about sticking to dead kids and Who Dat? videos. History is hard. Edited April 15, 2013 by tvashtarkatena Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) No end in sight at Gitmo Dubya is starting to eclipse Nixon as America's Most Giving Gift That Keeps On. Once we're out of Asscrackistan the 'legality' of Gitmo is going to get pretty damn threadbare. The morality of it was never in question. Thank you House Republicans for blocking any and all attempts to clean up this steaming pile of human rights violations. They never met a case of human suffering they didn't like. tvashtarkatena Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) They actually moved the mountain, shot the movie, then put it back. You could get away with that kind of stuff in those days. They harnessed the power of De Niro's method acting to do it. Edited April 25, 2013 by tvashtarkatena Quote
