tvashtarkatena Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) Now that our wars are ending and budget cuts are here, military contractors need to find new business. Guess where? Government use of drones should be strictly regulated to protect our privacy. Send a message: Petition to pass drone regulation to VA governor Bob McDonnel WA has its own drone bill, HB 1771, which provides oversight over their use by police and government agencies. This does not regulate private (recreational) drones. Boeing is vigorously trying to kill it. A call to these representatives ASAP would help push it over the fence: Frank Chopp – (360) 786-7920 Patrick Sullivan – (360) 786-7858 Eric Pettigrew - (360) 786-7838 Cheers! matt_warfield Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 How hypocritical for Paul to blame Demos for drones when Repubs are advocating more military. And I would rather spend 12 hours on a ledge with any of you fuckers than sit on a chair in Congress during a filibuster! Quote

G-spotter Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Will the "smart Iranian kids" fly the fake ones they "hacked" home too? Quote
matt_warfield Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 (edited) They are not just Iranian kids. The new Top Gun sits in front of a computer from anywhere in the world. The world is changing and fast due partly to technology and partly to IT. Different first but linked forever now. Edited March 14, 2013 by matt_warfield Quote

jon Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 OR they have become victim to cc.com's drone program. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 The bills dead this time around. Boeing's lobbyists prevailed this round. We'll get there. Public awareness on the use of drones withing the US has just started to accelerate. Quote
ivan Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 the drone industry just needs to figure out a more pleasing name for their product: aerial american autobots? Friendly Airborne Guys (FAGs)? ronnie reagans? osama's banes? Quote
Crux Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 National Safety Lookers -- (Now that the old "NSL" acronym is defunct!) Sky Friends -- (Saying "FAGs" might be offensive to the pope.) Pig Fuckers -- (Not as bad as saying "Ronnie Reagans") Osama's Revenge -- (Else, maybe Obama's Mamas...) ???? Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 OR they have become victim to cc.com's drone program. You mean TTK and ggk? Quote
ivan Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 duh, if you don't leave SOME enemies out there, you can't justify an eternal cc.retard drone program! Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 (edited) I also put in a letter to VA gov McDonnell urging him to sign their drone bill - which will be the first in the nation if passed (it sailed through the legislature, but the gov loves his toys): VA drone bill first in nation It's all about raising the kind of public awareness that can focus lawmakers on the issue. It's inevitable that Robocop is on the horizon (you can buy your own video and auto hovering 4 rotor drone for about $600 these days), so it's best that we regulate robot law enforcement and surveillance earlier than later. If not, I'm going to market Ivan-style helmet graphics on the top of round-the-town hoodies. After Skynet becomes self aware, of course, all this will be moot. matt_warfield Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Not sure whether drones or trojans and hacking are doing more damage. I'd rather see something spying on me than have it in my computer. I'm sure jon could comment. Quote
