COL._Von_Spanker Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 Ballard Market=Home of the best beer selection in seattle, if you don't believe me go there (other than that place up on 105th) Quote
Libater Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 Correction... the best beer selection in Seattle is at Bottleworks on 45th in Wallingford. Far better selection than Ballard Market. Quote
COL._Von_Spanker Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 I should rephrase my statement to best grocery store beer selection, which means it's open late and it has a parking lot and food and a really great bulk food section. Oh yeah, I can walk there in about 5 minutes from my house, so I guess I'm alittle biased. Quote
thelawgoddess Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 beer sucks. can we talk about some other kind of alcoholic beverage now? (i'm getting thirsty!!!) Quote
philfort Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 You can get this stuff at Bottleworks:  http://www.unibroue.com/english.cfm  Quote
Beck Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 What kind of drinking do you prefer, lawgoddess? Something mixed, or a Grand Cru from an excellent harvest of some sorts or other? i'm partial to french country stuff and exploring Washington's excellent offerings, or a vodka gimlet, muddled, with fresh squeezed lime instead of Roses, spash of soda- tasty! Quote
thelawgoddess Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 yeah, beck; now you're tallking! except i got nasty sick drunk off a gimlets/"greenery"/hot-tub combination one night ... so i can't go there anymore. Quote
Beck Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Rusty nail on crushed would be sure to cure you! Got any current drink faves? I used to make so many old fashioneds at a country club I gave one a try once, not to bad if you don't make them too sweet. If you like them sweet, a golden cadillac is a very decadent summer concoction, one best sipped thru a straw in a porch swing. Let's not forget how good a classic mint julep goes down in the heat, too! For liquers, a Drambuie is a mighty fine sipper after some home cooked haute cuisine, cuisine verite. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Jesus H Christ. This is a beer thread. Did you not see the topic, for God's sake? Beer. B-E-E-R. Get it? If you want to start a mixed drink thread, then start a mixed drink thread, ok? Â Now back off. Quote
Anna Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 PBR when my wallet's tight , Terminator Stout and Guiness for when I'm feeling frisky with the green. Oh yah, TG ain't so bad either! Wait a second now...I really don't think that there is any quality beer that I don't like Anyone else have a type of non-piss beer that they absolutely cannot put down their gullet????? Quote
carolyn Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 moose droooooooool is my latest fav! Â Pete's Wicked Ale...yummmmy! Â James Page Burly Brown Ale...occassionally an amber. Â I liked TG's stout...and to my suprise, even the IPA! Â A good 'ol budweiser will tide me over quite well tho! Quote
Jonathan Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 A little lower niveau, but tasty nonetheless: Â Sheaf's Stout and a Foster's Bitter in that appealing oil can. Quote
Beck Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 sorry for the thread creep, JEEZ... just putting out some variety for the lawgoddess' thirst...for a beer that's kinda funky, those beers with smoked hops have got a taste akin to lapsang sooshong and not that enjoyable in a malt bev. Quote

Libater Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 I'm not surprised man.. Toronado has one of the most loyal followings ever. It was my local for 4 years before moving to Seattle. Best damn bartenders in the city too.... and the best damn owner. Quote
RobBob Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Red Hook tonight. Somebody mentioned Chimay...I work a tradeshow in Brussels every spring, and drink enough of that, and Duvel, etc. that I can hardly stand my own gas for a few days...but it's all good stuff. Quote
freeclimb9 Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Damn, y'all be beer snobs. Don't ya know the best beer is free and cold? I can't believe Bud prices are going up again! Quote
chucK Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Shit man! It doesn't need to be cold! What kind of beer snob are you? Â [ 10-25-2002, 02:38 PM: Message edited by: chucK ] Quote
