From comments I've heard in all my travels pretty much anywhere, ever, nobody anywhere thinks much of the French. Hell, even the French don't like the other French - North, South, East, West, they all look down their noses at les autres. The only thing they can all get together on is their universal hatred of Parisiennes.

From my travels the french are generally insular and thats the major compliant about them. The women are hot, flexible, and put out. It's the loud drunk Brits (110% of them), the obnoxious Germans(err, all of them), and the rich Russians "spek Roooshian", and the Han Chinese who think they are "fah superior" that people really hate these days.

 

From Quebecois the French and the Swiss don't think they are part of the same culture; some Quebecois (like these who'd moved to Switzerland) don't think of themselves as Canadian (and really, if you had money, would you want to be Canadian? It's pay for not gay)

also kinda rich to read an Anglo-Canadian concur with the idea the french don't like Quebecois (likely not true on average btw) considering the common complaint of Quebecois being 2nd class citizen in western Canadian states.

I don't doubt some french laugh at the accent of Quebecois but in my experience the French love Quebec. First, many give great import to the loss of Canada to the Brits and claim it to be a major turning point in history (the dawn of the English century, and the dusk of the french one). Cultural and political exchanges are very common, Quebecois TV shows and news are numerous on the French language channel, I also seem to recall the French have an idyllic vision of Quebec found in songs, etc.

i'd chalk it more to working americans don't travel much and when they do state at insular mid-range hellholes so few know or care. the little study abroad shits have a bad rep particularly in Italy. Israeli's aren't well loved either.
