Anyone have beta to share regarding going into the North and Middle Sister this time of year?

Is the pass open or would one come from the east side?

Trip reports?

Thanks

What about the Pole Creek Spring trail head? The routes heading in there seem to offer some selection.

I can't believe that folks haven't been in there this year.

Dude, its the Oregon Cascades part of the forum and the OP specifically asked about North and Middle Sister. Found a Middle Sister on the ridge between North and South Sisters in WA?

South Sister

Can anyone provide some information about the route from the south starting at Devil's Lake trailhead this time of year (March)? Never climbed it before and I'm wondering if there's typically an avalanche risk on this trail.

Not sure about the avalanche danger but you will have to walk from Bachelor Ski Area as the road is gated there. Doubt there could be much avalanche prone area except maybe the stretch up onto the ridge. The lower part is low angle and once up on the ridge you are above the slope.

For S. Sister, the slog from bachelor sucks no matter how you do it, overnight on one push. If you do decide to go, the ramp off the summit is an amazing ski descent. I would recommend waiting until the road is open...

Thanks for the South Sister input, folks.

The 6 1/2 mile trek along the road before you can even start the climb is the thing that has me re-thinking this!

I've been towed in on skis by a sled which is a good option. Know a few folks that might be able to hook you up with a tow if you don't know anyone.
