summitchaserCJB Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I know this is kinda silly. But does anyone know if there is one? I've done it in 10 minutes. Probably could shave that down a bit. Quote
DPS Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 The fastest I have heard is 1:58 car to car, that is the only time that really counts. Quote
summitchaserCJB Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 Oh ya. I know about that one. It is actually 87 minutes car to car but that is with a ride up the chair lift and skiing out. But I was talking about the actual climb but oh well. Quote
summitchaserCJB Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 What were the conditions of that 1:58 ascent? If that was a typical hike in, hike out I am impressed. Quote
ryanb Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I think hawk berry toped it out in something ridiculous like 40 minutes from the car in a pair of vans skate shoes, don't remember too many other details or round trip time. Â Looking at the big mountain talent in Seattle i wouldn't be surprised if it has been done in less. Â Shaving it down much beyond 10 minutes on that rock would be a fools game. Go find some solid granite. Quote
marc_leclerc Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 it has to be 5th class to count as a free solo Quote
summitchaserCJB Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 Well tons of people "solo" it. Quote
giza Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 it has to be 5th class to count as a free solo  Isn't the standard route mid fifth? Quote
summitchaserCJB Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 Yes. He is being sarcastic, or uninformed. Pretty sure sarcastic. Quote
giza Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) my guess is uninformed. After all, he's from Canuckistan. WTF does he know? Â Edited January 24, 2010 by giza Quote

I ran the approach and deproach and soloed up and down the tooth in 2:15. The basin below the east face of the Tooth was hard snow which ultimately slowed me down what with all the back sliding.  I hiked up Si with Mike May who claimed he walked the completey dry approach to the tooth for a round trip time of 1:58. As fast as Mike walked up Si I believe him. Quote
MarkMcJizzy Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) Dumbest thread of the decade. Â Better be careful, you'll attract Dan H. like stink on shit Edited January 24, 2010 by MarkMcJizzy Quote

Pete_H Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Shaving it down much beyond 10 minutes on that rock would be a fools game. Go find some solid granite. Â Why? That shit gets climbed so much its just as solid as any granite. Quote
powderhound Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Shave it down by shaving your legs, balls, and hair to cut down on wind resistence. Quote
mountainmatt Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Dumbest thread of the decade. Â Are you sure? There is a great thread about Infinite Stupidity going on as well... Â Â Quote

summitchaserCJB Posted January 27, 2010 Author Posted January 27, 2010 (edited) Must be tough being such a hardman Markjizzy. How do you do it? (hmm..just noticed you haven't posted any TR's...) Edited January 27, 2010 by summitchaserCJB Quote
ivan Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 spraying about solo times on das toof-wand is much like spraying about how fast you can jerk-off - not to knock either activity, mind you Quote
summitchaserCJB Posted January 27, 2010 Author Posted January 27, 2010 I respect your opinion but I see it a little differently. It all depends on your margin of safety. If you can solo the tooth safely (relatively speaking) pretty fast I think that is cool. Not that I make a huge habit out of it. Thats just me. There are plenty of people who don't agree. Quote
