Couloir Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Anyone know anything more, or who this may have been? Skagit County Herald Quote
Choada_Boy Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Well, I think his partner came up behind me just as I got back to the log crossing. He came out of nowhere, was not in a talkative mood, got right in his car (Oregon plates) and screwed out of there. Seemed kind of weird, but makes sense now. Quote

Choada_Boy Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I thought I'd alienated him by singing Violent Femmes over my headphones, and poorly at that. Quote

Rad Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 In 2008 North Cascades Park rangers responded to 11 serious incidents. Four of the incidents were mountaineering related. This year is already on track for several times that number. Quote

I hope he heals quickly. yeah, i figured that was our hombre - he's bulletproof and 10, well, 9 1/2 feet tall now - i'm sure he'll be back at it soon enough and hopefully have a fine tale to tell? how was half a day sitting round waiting for the cavalry to arrive, esse? pup_on_the_mountain Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Damn!! This season has had more than its share of accidents in the alpine. Good luck with the recovery Chad! Glad to know it was not any worse. Rod covered a hell of a long way in 5-6 hrs. I had a basketball-sized rock fall on my foot (from just around my knee-level, thankfully) on that route. Luckily, it just produced a big black pinky toe, and I was able to finish the climb. The distance made us take the extra night to hike out the 3rd morning though. Quote
