Choada_Boy
Well, I think his partner came up behind me just as I got back to the log crossing. He came out of nowhere, was not in a talkative mood, got right in his car (Oregon plates) and screwed out of there. Seemed kind of weird, but makes sense now. Choada_Boy
I thought I'd alienated him by singing Violent Femmes over my headphones, and poorly at that.

DPS
Shit, that's Chad_A from this board. I have climbed with him a number of times. He is a great guy. I hope he heals quickly. Rad
In 2008 North Cascades Park rangers responded to 11 serious incidents. Four of the incidents were mountaineering related. This year is already on track for several times that number.

pup_on_the_mountain
Damn!! This season has had more than its share of accidents in the alpine. Good luck with the recovery Chad! Glad to know it was not any worse. Rod covered a hell of a long way in 5-6 hrs. I had a basketball-sized rock fall on my foot (from just around my knee-level, thankfully) on that route. Luckily, it just produced a big black pinky toe, and I was able to finish the climb. The distance made us take the extra night to hike out the 3rd morning though.
