marc_leclerc Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Nice work.... there are strong jealousy vibes being emmited in your general direction Quote
ropegoat Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 John inspires the rest of us to get the fuck off the couch. I only hope my trip north goes so well as that. Â Props John- Way to get it done right! Quote
mountainmatt Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Just plain ol' awesome man! Makes me want to save up for a trip up there next year Quote
powderhound Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 the best I could do was a little over a week off and the list of people willing to gamble the money on a week trip to the gorge was very short. I dont blame them... the odds of spending the week eating, sleeping and shoveling out the tent were good.  that was me  Making me wish I would have just ditched this CPA shit and spent some time and $ at the Ruth...glad you slayed and didn't get slayed. Lets get ready to roll to The Wadd. Quote
rocky_joe Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 WOW, I've now looked at these photos 8 or 9 times...still fucking amazing. Quote
pink Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 fuckin eh john, sounds like all your dedication is paying off big time. Â Â good job ya schmuck Quote
RobertSmith Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Doug is my MOG. If you try and steal him you will be very sorry. Quote
John Frieh Posted May 7, 2009 Author Posted May 7, 2009  Problem here is on this trip I was the MOG... so you might want to make sure/remind Doug that he likes being the MOG or start hitting the chocolate milk  Thanks for all props everyone... glad you liked the TR Quote
Doug Shepherd Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Hahahahaha  I love it. The nice part about being a MOG is there is plenty of you to go around. The chocolate milk idea both frightens and intrigues me. BEEFCAKE! However, Both you will have to fight off the wifey for your piece of the action. She's tiny, but fierce.  Oh and nice job Bryan, making John go North with a hate bag. Some kind of friend you are! Quote
crackers Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Awesome guys! Â I'm stoked you guys pulled it off, and awesome props to mr homebuilder for the discipline to stay fit to pull this trip off! Â (and of course, i love that sexy white pack) Â BTW, I would not make any plans that are contingent on fighting off Doug's wifey. She is fierce. Quote
wfinley Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 [soapbox]I find it comical that climbers will gladly drop $$$ on new gear (that they only end up selling a few years later when something "better" comes out) but refuse to spend any $ on a training seminar... something they will "own" the rest of their life and will only improve/enhance their climbing. Go figure.[/soapbox] You're missing the point; the reason climbers buy new tools, fatter skis and lighter packs is so technology will enable them to climb harder and easier with less training! Â Nice job on the routes; we flew in a few days after you guys and watched the aves rip in all directions. For those who don't have a clear idea of what the objective danger on the approach to Wake Up is like - here's a pic of the hanger belching. Â Â Â Quote
John Frieh Posted May 15, 2009 Author Posted May 15, 2009 Youth? Surely you are mistaken sir  wfinley: TR? Quote
John Frieh Posted October 19, 2009 Author Posted October 19, 2009 Better late than never? Â Reconnected with Tim this past weekend who Doug and I met during this trip... he passed this pic along. The two dots in the couloir are Doug and I on The Escalator on Mt Johnson: Â Quote
Pilchuck71 Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 pink say's "john frieh"....... "is my new hero" ??? Quote
