It's well known that McCain doesn't know crap about economics and has some pretty extreme views on the middle class (like defined as makes less than $5mil, thinks economy is going fine but Americans are whiny).

Now Palin has argued that she has experience with budgets at the local and state level. My counter to that is a monkey could have managed Alaska's budget. They have so much surplus from the feds/oil companies that there aren't the hard decisions to make in a tight budget.

Second, Palin managed to increase state revenue and increase oil company revenue at the same time by raping the environment. That shortsighted mindset cannot be allowed at the national level!

you don't get out much, do you. last night's forum with mccain and obama - mccain admitted that the econmomy is shit. they both had the same answers to everything.

also obama has said he will not do away with bush's tax cuts until the economy improves. in other words - wait till the economy picks up before hurting it.

it's about time mccain finally admitted it. in the past few weeks we've seen their ticket embrace change over experience. palin is now saying that climate change could be manmade. they are flip-flopping so badly on the issues, only because they had them so wrong to begin with. they are stealing all of obama's longtime issues and calling them their own.

What you call flip-flopping I call prudence and good judgment with the consideration of changing times. Obama has had that principle from day 1. The repubs have been consistently "stay the path," "must not deviate from ancient policy" and i find it hard to believe that they now intend to do otherwise, no matter what they say.

Semantics. When McCain flip-flops, you call a spade a spade. When Obama does, it is "prudence" and "Good judgment." Surely you see the irony here.

The American conservative's love affair with hanging onto a failed idea explains 8 years of Bush. In their view, it's better to appear right, to exude confidence in your wrongness, rather than to change course.

Look at The Incubator; their new mascot. She's stridently, confidently and aggressively ignorant on just about every issue of national importance. The woman couldn't change course if she wanted to; she doesn't even realize she's on a ship. Does she even know what a ship is, for that matter?

She's the most popular governor in America. Did you guys get that? Want me to repeat it?

We get it. Isn't it 80% of Alaskans love her? What does that say? Or the fact that a small town re-elected her. Small towns are notorious for looking at every little fault you or your relatives have? What does that tell you.

We get that part T.

Holy cow. If we elect another bumbler like this into white house we deserve what we get.

By the way. The straight talk express seems to be doing doughnuts in the mud wallow with their latest ad regarding Obama's kindergarden porno program. Yea, a real straight up guy that McCain.

My feeling is that you are gonna get one and there is nothing you can do about it. The main difference is that one has darker skin and is much younger than the other one, you will not be happy with either. Plan on it.

Have a nice day.

Well, at least you get something for a change.

Wasilla is a shithole (yes, I've been there several times) suburb of Anchorage with 6000 residents. Basically a string of cheap plywood strip malls, matchbox housing, and storage units along the Anchorage/Talkeetna corridor. It makes Lynnwood look like New York City. If George, Washington is your idea of the average American town, well, then so is Wasilla.

Alaska has the smallest population of all 50 states; less than 700K. That means about 300 million Americans had never even heard of Palin until the convention.

There was a small town in Colorado that elected a cat for mayor as I recall. The cat turned out to be really popular.

Great arguments Bill, as usual.

Again, another erudite assessment.

Palin is not playing well AT ALL on TV, now that the light of day is upon her. She is revealed for what she is; a petty, ignorant, small town politico who has as much business being in national leadership as my aforementioned cat mayor.

There is a huge rally to prevent her from getting anywhere near the White House in both the GOP and the Democratic party. I wouldn't underestimate it, but go with your 'folksy' wisdom if you must.

I just plain astounded how inarticulate McCain is - he really is not the sharpest tool in the shed. His inability, or refusal, to develop meaningful policies that reflect the sophistication of world realities is numbing. Folks voted for The Idiot twice and now - they're shocked over his performance!!! And his approval rating is in the 20's, lowest for a sitting president since the data collection began. So I guess there's always a chance we'll continue the trend of putting in a head of state as dumb as a stump.

I caught Obama on Letterman the other night. What strikes me is that the guy can actually have a conversation. He can understand a question, and respond, coherently, in his native language spoken properly, to the question asked.

McCain is speaks from a pull down of pre-fab answers, much like the Terminator after it's eaten but unable to swallow (cuz its a robot) a family sized box of GrapeNuts. He is utterly unable to have a cogent conversation.

Palin isn't even able to string words together into a sentence. Her inability to speak her native tongue, and there's not a fucking chance she's got another one to switch to, is sobering.

How can one lead if one cannot even communicate?

sheesh TTK. Do you realize that when you refer to Gov. Palin as she every time you point out the shortcomings in her qualifications you are making a sexist attack on this wildy popular public figure? This is sure to offend someone. And you know that every time you offend someone you discredit yourself.
