tomtom Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 If they can hold a myriad of classes on this crag that should free up Classic Crack Mountaineers Dome so RUMR can finally get his pinkpoint. Corrected your typo. Quote
willstrickland Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 After all the trash talk aimed their way on this board, I'm sure they'd love to open the place to all users. Given that it's a publicly owned facility, who gives a flying fuck what they'd love to do, that ain't their decision to make sparky. Quote
builder206 Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Yes it is. The agreement worked out with the city gives them 100%control over the interior of the building and primary scheduling control over access to the exterior climbing wall. Try again. Quote
willstrickland Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 As you yourself said, it was the city's decision. Not that you have anything to worry about, I wouldn't get within a hundred miles of these wankers. Quote
builder206 Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 wouldn't get within a hundred miles of these wankers. On this we can agree. Quote
tomtom Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 It looks like they are installing some rad fourth class lines. The outdoor wall was designed for teaching beginner Mounties climbing technique, so the walls are pretty slabby and well featured, even without holds. There are a couple nice hand and finger cracks, though. The boulder may be a little more interesting. Quote
akhalteke Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Hmm... 1/2 are wearing 800 fill down coats and the other 1/2 t-shirts. Huh. Quote
mattp Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Damn, Will. You're stooping to Mountie bashing? Quote
Peter_SS Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 to bash is so fun! When I was in search and rescue they were a running joke. There would be a report of 1 group of 10 missing and some how two groups = 20 or so would be found. In their defence, I am glad to see city folk trying to enjoy the out doors. Quote
willstrickland Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Yeah Matt, it was out of place, I assumed it was in spray. But I do loves me some Mountie bashing. Quote

Peter_SS location = Bellevue, WA methinks the average mountie lives more rural than Peter_SS Quote
RuMR Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 If they can hold a myriad of classes on this crag that should free up Classic Crack so RUMR can finally get his pinkpoint. THAT WOULD BE RAD...I'll let you try it on toprope if you stay nice!!! Sumpin' for you to aspire to! Quote
octopuswithafez Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 Looks like its coming along. I took this on Saturday morning Quote

CollinWoods Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 (edited) Oh wow willstrickland , is that you with the red helmat (must be from your personal pics, huh)...? Any ways it might be a cool place for learning proper setup of bigwall aid. Edited October 9, 2008 by CollinWoods Quote

In my experience (King & Snohomish counties), most people in SAR and/or mountain rescue are either mounties themselves, or act very "mountie-like." And speaking of "enjoying the outdoors" I see a lot of rolly-polly SAR guys who don't EVER seem to get out, except on missions. Quote

Layback Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 As you yourself said, it was the city's decision. Not that you have anything to worry about, I wouldn't get within a hundred miles of these wankers. The misrepresentation of the climbing program by posting pics from a Eugene Mountain Rescue FT and a Mountaineers Scrambling FT (both of which have nothing to do with the climbing program) is a really classy touch. Are you ignorant of where those photos come from or are you just looking to cause problems? i need at least a season to prep for that thing... I suspect you'll need more time than that. Just out of curiosity, are you the fat guy or the goofy dork with the big nips in this pic? Quote
Cobra_Commander Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I love how strickland can produce those on demand. He must have the original masters stashed away. It's like having vinyl copies of The White Album. That photo of EMR contains several good climbers with solid resumes. I believe it's a climbing safety event in Eugene they put on as a public service for nearby residents. Quote
