sobo Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 From my college daze climbing trips, anything by Big Country. Their first three or four albums rocked. Band's been defunct for a few years now. a bit about the lads official BC website Quote
Chad_A Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 That's a good question; depends on what you're looking for. Something to get you amped for a climb, or something mellow for blending in with the scenery? I'd put Neil Young forth for just about any road trip. Quote
kevinoregon Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Reggae is all you need. Lots of reggae. Quote
sweatinoutliquor Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 -White Stripes -Prince Yeah, that should cover it. Quote
chucK Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Reggae Roulette: Get a rotation of about five Bob Marley songs, and just play them on sample for that drive through the San Joaquin Valley. Keep a loaded pistol in the console between the driver and the passenger. See who shoots himself first. Quote

Sherri Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 The roulette idea sounds fun. I like car games. I used to roadtrip with an Australian guy whose entire selection of music consisted of Midnight Oil's tapes and cd's, including a bunch of screechy bootlegged recordings from their early days playing in pubs around Australia. It was brutal. He's lucky there wasn't a gun in the car; I'd have shot HIM. Quote
John Frieh Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 with so much good music out there its hard to narrow it down... I tend to just listen to what ever I am in the mood for or stoked on at the moment... a few staples for me though: motorcycle diaries movie soundtrack gorecki's 3rd cash live @ san quentin (the complete recording) mos def black on both sides blackalicious nia long hauls are also a great time to catch up on your "reading"... books on CD/mp3 are a great idea And if your ghetto sled doesnt have a plasma yet you can always do the ac adaptar in the cig lighter + a lap top... nothing like memorizing the moves to cryo by watching higher ground over and over on the drive up Quote
Skeezix Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 (edited) The soundtrack to my summer road trip was the Avett Brothers. Edited October 29, 2007 by Skeezix Quote
