ClimbingPanther Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 i'm a little confused how a decapitation would be considered cruel treatment? maybe an unjust killing, but cruel? when did the mere act of killing an animal become cruel? Quote
olyclimber Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 tearing the head off is a little bizarre...but it seems more like killing some animal that didn't belong to you should be the charge. back on the farm we killed chickens by cutting their head off with an axe all the time, that is standard practice. KaskadskyjKozak Posted September 24, 2007 Author Posted September 24, 2007 What do you think? I don't think it warrants jail time, that's for sure. Maybe a fine, and psychiatric evaluation. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 What do you think? I don't think it warrants jail time, that's for sure. Maybe a fine, and psychiatric evaluation. Um, you might throw a course of state-mandated treatment for alcoholism in there, too. Quote
archenemy Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 A humane society official called the incident "unconscionable," but also criticizes the hotel for keeping live ducks in the lobby. So maybe they should sue the hotel for cruel tx of ducks. Quote
RuMR Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Man, they should put those ducks up in the penthouse suite...the nerve of that company!!! Quote
fear_and_greed Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 He should have choked his chicken instead. Quote
RuMR Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 i'm not even going to ask where/how you found that pic... Quote
pdawg Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Though the topic seems to have swerved permanently off course, decapitating a bird doesn't require anything approaching a psychotic outlook. Back in my halcyon youth when I baled hay and killed the occasional pig, I also shot some pheasant. It was standard procedure to finish wounded birds by twirling them by the neck. There was no sadism involved: just an effective way to put the bird out of misery without adding more shot to the meat. At any rate, often as not, the heads popped off. This isn't to suggest the guy shouldn't go on the wagon for a few months... Quote
