At Seattle Prep, hating life in private school, drinking communion wine (blood of Christ), probably stealing pot and alcohol ( Jebbies show you right!) from my dad and listening to their John Wesley Harding and Holy Modal Rounders albums that they seemed to have on to all the time

I was probably either working at the South Coast Shipyard and Design Center, or on a sailboat.

Wyoming, reading "The Sword of Gnosis", Michio Kushi's "Macrobiotics", "Seven Feathers"... climbing in the Tetons, the Winds, Little Cottonwood Canyon, and either running or driving miles and miles through those vast deserts in my '66 Dodge pickup with a slant-six and three-on-the-tree to do FAs on dirty volcanic and sandstone spires.

 

Was wanting to get laid more frequently.

 

Bought my first piece of land that year.

 

What a time.

 

I could'nt have cared less about Elvis. I was wondering when the next Steely Dan, Crusaders, Leo Kottke, and Miles albums would come out next.

Was it August 16, 1977?

I was on a road trip to SF with this other dude and his family. this other dude and I were going to fly to Japan from SF. I don't remember Elvis dieing, but I do remember that road trip. Weirder than weird. Beyond freaky.
