jon Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Hey Folks, Today we are publishing a great article written by Colin Haley, who just left for Pakistan, on alpine gear considerations for climbing in the greater ranges. While not apparently obvious, clicking on the images will bring them to full screen. Thanks to Colin for getting this done before he left for his trip. Hope you enjoy the article! http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/alpine/colin-haley-alpinism Quote
bobinc Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 This looks great; succinct yet not too condensed. Thanks for the effort, Colin. There is a font problem on page 1 of the "hardware" section. Quote
dan_forester Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 those ads aren't obtrusive at all! neat article, though. Quote

Rad Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Gear review without links to buy the gear? That would be silly. I am glad to hear Colin is getting some $ for this. He clearly worked hard to put that piece together and it's very professional. Way to go CC for helping support our local hero! Quote
Pro Mountain Sports Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 great job guys, great insights and suggestions from Colin. Quote
cj001f Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 $1,000 for a Soloist actually used by Colin Haley. Witness the sign of his bond with the gods of Alpinism for eternal strength. For the small price of $1,000 (ten easy payments of $120) you too can gain the strength of Colin Quote
Kevin_Matlock Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 The images no worky. Nice effect when clicking the "thumbnail", but the frame is just a white box. I see the next/prev when I mouse over the corners, but don't actually see the larger image. Maybe just a problem for me here at work???? Quote
Kevin_Matlock Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 And... AAAAHHHH! Maybe a little too early to call it prime-time? Quote
olyclimber Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 More than likely you're having an issue with Java, which the image tool we're using there depends on. Quote
jon Posted August 8, 2007 Author Posted August 8, 2007 Send Porter and I a PM to resolve this issue. Thanks. Quote
olyclimber Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Your browser apparently isn't ready for primetime! THIS WEB 2.0 BABY! Peeps having the above problem should PM Jon or I with your Browser and OS. Thanks. Quote
sobo Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 great job guys, great insights and suggestions from Colin. AlpineDave's piece on ice climbing gearmongery is worthy, too. Check it out! Quote
Ade Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Your browser apparently isn't ready for primetime! THIS WEB 2.0 BABY! Peeps having the above problem should PM Jon or I with your Browser and OS. Thanks. I see this on my browser too. IE 7.0 / WinXP Pro SP2. The other pages are fine. Quote
Kevin_Matlock Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Porter believes he has an idea of what is going on with the 'harward part 1' page and will correct it in the next couple of days, but all the rest appear to be ok. Technical issues aside, lots of info to be had for sure. Good job and thanks for everyone's efforts putting it together. Quote
