kevbone Posted June 19, 2007 Author Posted June 19, 2007 I respect BB....but he should not even be on the same stage as some others. He pretty much knows only one note. Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 What about Bobby Johnson, he basically wrote and played every Rolling Stones, Doors, Led Zepplin, etc song in the 30's and they just ripped him off. Quote
Dechristo Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Wankerbone said this about the King of the Blues: Â BB King should not be on this list... Quote

He pretty much knows only one note.  you're an ignorant motherfucker   I will admitt the three notes he knows.....he really knows....  He knows a few more than three.  It's called "minimalism" he didn't need the endless scales or trickery that others used. Instead he had "feeling" Quote
Dechristo Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I know this is a lost cause on someone who requires an ample amount of over-stimulation to entertain, but... Â soulfull playing is as much about the space between notes (perhaps more) as it is about note selection. Â Those who require a constant spray of rapid-fire notes are the bottom-feeders of music appreciation. Quote

Dechristo Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I'd guess you're as aware of B.B.'s playing as you are of alpine rock Quote
kevbone Posted June 19, 2007 Author Posted June 19, 2007 Dude....get a grip.....I love alpine rock climbing and have climbed a bunch of it.  Ever heard of Steve Kimock? One of my all time favorite musicians to listen to and see. He is one of the more patient guitarists around. Than means he plays slowly and with feeling. I am all about feeling, bro…..just because YOU cant feel it when there is a shredding guitarist playing, doesn’t mean they suck. Quote
lI1|1! Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Yardbirds and Cream  odd eric clapton isn't there, just given who else is on the list. conspiracy? paging micheal moore... Quote

Crux Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 All on the list who I recognize made singularly innovative contributions to guitar music. Regardless of how difficult or easy to emulate their songs, the creations credited were arguably ingenious. Quote
