Sol Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Hey, the following are a couple short surveys concerning your buying habits when it comes to outdoor gear purchases. The focus of the first survey is on how much you spend on outdoor gear and equipment per year. Please use 2006 as the criteria for your answer. The second survey concerns where you purchase your outdoor equipment. Please focus on the outlet in which you buy the majority of your outdoor gear. If choosing the Other option in the second survey, feel free to post what that other may be. All responses are greatly appreciated, and the more the better. Thanks ahead for taking the time to fill it out. Responses are to be used for a college-level Marketing term paper. , Sol Wertkin Quote
kurthicks Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 you might want to add "Professional Purchase (Pro Deal)" to the second poll. Quote
Sol Posted February 23, 2007 Author Posted February 23, 2007 good call Kurt, can't change the poll, but if people just post other: pro deal, that would be great. thanks, sol Quote
archenemy Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 And if they'd hook the rest of us up, that'd be great too. Will some of your research findings be available to us after you are done? It seems like this might be interesting to folks here... Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Damn, am I one of the only ones who blows more than $2k a year on fucking gear. Shit, I have a problem. Anyone want to invite me to a GAA (gear addicts anonymous) meeting? Quote
sobo Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Frosty: Other - pro deal And if they'd hook the rest of us up, that'd be great too. Arch: Sorry hon, we can't/won't do that. They'd shut us down pronto if the manufacturers even suspected it. There's some serious rules surrounding pro deals, as you can well imagine. Quote
billcoe Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Damn, am I one of the only ones who blows more than $2k a year on fucking gear. Shit, I have a problem. Anyone want to invite me to a GWA (gear Whores anonymous) meeting? OK, you're invited, but bring your old gear and lets do a swap for all uf us old whores with old gear. PS, love to see your stash:-) Hot damn. Quote
drater Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 What good is the pro deal if you can't pass on the bro deal? Quote
Ducknut Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Your second poll should include ATF. I always thought Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms would be a much better megastore than gubment agency. I know I'd spend >$5,000/year there. Quote
dmuja Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Tonight, spending the evening sorting and re-organizing my gear... SHIT! I HAVE 5 PACKS! And that doesn't include the crappy ones I use for cragging (I have 3 of those)! WHY? Quote
snoboy Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 SHIT! I HAVE 5 PACKS! Obviously a beginner. Quote
Alex Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Damn, am I one of the only ones who blows more than $2k a year on fucking gear. Shit, I have a problem. No, the others are just in denial. I've discovered through looking at my spending over several years that I spend more on recreation (climbing/sailing) than I do on either groceries or gas in any given year. Quote
chris Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Other - pro deal. And for what it's worth, I found my purchasing tends to be cyclical rather than consistent, and averages between $1500-2000 a year. Quote
