sobo Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 a little post-Valentine's Day poochie-love-fest? Quote
motomagik Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I already ranted about this in the other thread... all tapped out... Quote
sobo Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 This isn't the Rant Thread; this is the Speculation Thread. C'mon, get with it. Quote

Off_White Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Dogging on Mt Hood? I thought they mostly confined that stuff to Smith and the Portland Rock Gym. Unless you mean "dogging" in the british sense, which is to have sex with random strangers at rest areas, in which case, blecch, you're even more twisted than I thought, Snugtop! Quote
cindy66 Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 In considering that the "male species" of us human's is only 98.6 and ole "male K-9" species is 103.0, I think they had a good idea of having muttley keep them warm,BUT NOT ON A MOUNTIAN. Muttley has no place in "avy danger" territory. PETA will be all over these folks if their names get out. Quote
sobo Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 ...PETA will be all over these folks if their names get out. PETA has enough of it's own problems... ==> People Eradicating Tons of Animals Quote
cindy66 Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 They finally dug their hole to deep, huh Quote
pu Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 My dogs have just as much mountaineering experience as some of the nice folks who post on this site. They are not trained in crevasse rescue but they are always positive. Quote
sobo Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 They finally dug their hole to deep, huh uh huh. Never liked their tactics from the git-go. Same for ELF and Earth-Firsters. Quote
cindy66 Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Earth-Firsters stay on my bad side, they are thick in the parts I live in,and pull some crazy stunts.I say chop that tree down that man is picketing that sign in.He want go and do it again if you chop it with him on it. Quote
sobo Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 The trouble I have outfits such as EF and ELF is that they believe the tactics they employ are OK, even if harm comes to others in the furtherance of their goals. A old friend's cousin (a logger) was f***ed up pretty damn badly when his chainsaw hit a railroad spike buried in a tree. That just plain sucks. But hey, we digress... this is the Dog on Hood Speculation Thread! Quote
cindy66 Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 I would not ,by no means, take my dog on Hood.I would not want to witness a 70mph wind come thru and blow his waggin tail down, or have to dig him out of an avy. Quote
Figger_Eight Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 My dog's climbed Mt. Adams a couple of times. Maybe Mt. Hood in the summer... She is smarter than half my climbing partners, though. Quote
RogerJ Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 My dog has an MLU, Avy Beacon and cell phone, just in case. He's ok on the extraction part of avy rescue, but sucks with the probe. -r Quote
mtn_mouse Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 I saw a dog coming down through the pearly gates with his owners one summer. The dog was having a great time. This should be a thread about ledges though. How can we identify, and mitigate ledge encroachment on our mountains? Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 we need to put fixed lines in on Hood from Timberline to the summit. Quote
gapertimmy Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 My dogs (outside of being internets pr0n stars) are hired by the NPS each summer to remove human feces from Rainier. Therefore the are 1337 climbers. Quote
kevbone Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 My grandmother climbed hood in 1949. She told me that when she got to the top there was a horse on the summit. Crazy. Quote
cindy66 Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 1949? She was one of our founding climbers..... Quote
ryland_moore Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 1949? She was one of our founding climbers..... Wha???? Hundreds up people each weekend used to climb Hood in the 1930's and earlier during the summer. Founding climbers? Quote
snugtop Posted February 20, 2007 Author Posted February 20, 2007 She was talking about the mare... Quote
billcoe Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 .......I say chop that tree down that man is picketing that sign in.He want go and do it again if you chop it with him on it. Hello, how come I'm the only one who is too stupid to figure that sentance out? BTW, the "illegal" thread is further down. This is an English as a first (not second) language 666. _________________________________________________-- Pagetop, I think the deal is, some people can't leave the bitch at home which explains how the dog was up there.
