We are sorry folks. The last message went out with a note that the ice

park opens this weekend. It opens Dec. 16. Sharpen up those tools and

crampons, wax up those boots, and seam seal those coats!!!

Opening weekend is spectacular.

We are making ice seven days a week right now. The last four nights, we’ve

seen impressive ice formation in the gorge with temps as cold as 12

degrees. Things are looking great.

The 12th Annual Ouray Ice Festival will be held January 10-15, 2007. For

information, visit www.ourayicefestival.com

This years festival clinics were posted online on Nov. 5. The 500+ spots

filled within 10 minutes of going online. We will be adding three new

clinics to the fest site hopefully this week.

- We are two months into our 2007 Membership Drive Campaign as of this

mailer. This year a membership costs only $40 dollars for the entire

climbing season.

- You can order your membership online, or visit the Victorian Inn, Ouray

Mountain Sports or the Box Canyon Lodge while your in town.

- Again, this year, local businesses will be offering substantial

discounts (like 20% off lodging) only to members of the Ice Park. Someone

estimated that, by receiving these discounts, it only takes a two-day stay

in Ouray to get back the $40 that your membership costs.

Help support the world’s greatest free ice climbing asset with your

contribution. Visit www.ourayicepark.com for more details or call Erin

Eddy at 970.325.4288.

Depending on the driver, I expect we wont leave until saturday.

I can hang there until xmas, then its off to visit long lost family in the area.

I would love to hook up for a beer or climbing if anyone's interested.

He's right, had to wait 45 minutes just to find a line to climb, and it wasn't very good at that. Teeming hordes of people from

Arkansas, Ohio, and other crummy states. Now you know your sports become a geek sport, when they crawl in from the south.

Thank god I'm moving to American Samoa.

By the way I was soloing, is that getting after it?

Wow man that's some hardcore shit! How does it feel to be so rad? It does totally suck in there when it is crowed though. It sucks that it has to be that way, that's the way it's going. Ted and Sara Toproper from Denver take over the place. I still think Ouray is the best in December before the ice park opens- the backcountry is usually in good shape and there is very few climbers around besides the ones who live there.

Was out on Red Mountain yesterday, the backcountry ice lines suck this year and so does the snow. There is ice in the park, but it's thinner than I've seen in years. Wouldn't even bother with shit in SW CO right now.
