Dechristo Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 do you have a gigantic pillah? keep keepin' on, dude. I'm hoping we can meet up again at Bluff Lake, fly in, and climb somethin'. Quote
Alex Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 I just joined this group and was reading all the drama on the Mt. Hood thread. Then I read this one and decided to stay. How can you go wrong with a packman drinking a guiness? Melissa Izzat the same Mel of REI fame? Quote
carolyn Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 hey kurt! keep posting. Your sense of humor is much appreciated! Btw...thanks for the card! Quote
EWolfe Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Glad to hear things are improving, Kurt. Stay with it, Bud. You're a tough Sonofabitch! :brew:Erik Quote
AlpineK Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Well some of my meetings with the doctors have been a little stressful. It seems they don't want me skiing until next season, and one of the doctors thinks I should forget climbing. They just don't have a clue about how important that is to me. I like to think I'll make it back, but I just don't know. All I have to say is fuck the doctors. Quote
G-spotter Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 If Paul Pritchard is back climbing again, you will be too. Any climbing doctor would tell you the same Quote
carolyn Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Dude! You WILL be climbing again someday. I just may have to be YOUR ropegun for a while, though. Hang in there! Quote
AlpineK Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 (edited) Thanks C. One positive thing is I'm posting from my house I'm just spending the night, but hopefully I'll be here more in a couple days. Edited December 16, 2006 by AlpineK Quote
AlpineK Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 (edited) Not too bad, I've even managed in doing a little cooking. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but it does take me a lot of effort Edited December 17, 2006 by AlpineK Quote
ZimZam Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Keep at it Kurt. It'll get easier bro. Quote
EWolfe Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Right On, Man. It must feel good to be making "home" your place again. Keep with it, my friend. Quote
AlpineK Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 I wish I could say I was staying here, but I'm headed back to my folks house for the time being even though there's no power. I've got a few days of PT coming up this week. I'll try and post when I can. Quote
minx Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Kurt-hang in there. I'd hate to think a few doctors are going to discourage from doing the things that are important to you! Great progress to get into your own home for a while! Quote

I'll try and do the only exercise which I can do which is go for a walk. Hey Kurt, i have been in hiding and not around lately. I am so glad to hear you are doing so well. I have been spending a lot of time with my ex boy-friend (not badvoodoo, the one you all don't know) he just had surgery to put his spine back together. he can walk too he too can not wait to get back to skiing. and would like to get back to the mountains and some unfinished business in Alaska. I know i am not up there with you, but i think about you a lot. I can understand your frustration at wanting to get back at climbing and skiing. I don't blame you. however I for one want you on this big round ball as long as possible, so take it easy. the mountains aren't going anywhere any time soon. erosion takes a long ass time, so you take your time and heal. when you are ready to hit it i hope i can count on you for a skiing lesson. there isn't any one else on the world who would have as much fun watching me fall on my ass all day Lotsa luv!!
