catbirdseat Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 So are you all looking forward to seeing this movie? It could be so bad that it's good. Quote
RogerJ Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I am looking forward to this being at the $3.00 theater in about 4 weeks where I can eat Flying Pie Pizza and not care if I wasted $3.00 on a movie. Â I wonder how much they paid a PR firm to come up wiht that uber-creative name for the movie. Â -r Quote
DirtyHarry Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I'm not sure you guys really understands this film. Take another look and ask yourselves, what is this film trying to tell us about the role of technology in bringing about socio-political change? I think in looking at with a different perspective you'll see what the "snakes" really represent. Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Dude, am I "looking forward to it"? It's been out on the internet for nearly six months now. People have been making alternate endings and reproducing scenes with additional self-shot footage and editing. You need to get onto usenet more Quote

DirtyHarry Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Sweet! I am so there. What a great way to spend my spare time! I'll be the snake, who will be Samuel L? Quote

olyclimber Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Usenet is pretty much where its at. All the cool people are there, people that are way cooler than you. Basically, Usenet is cc.com on steroids . Quote

I think in looking at with a different perspective you'll see what the "snakes" really represent. Â Let me guess: Your job is to write those pithy little 'introductions' to all those horrid displays of 'publically funded 'art''. You know, those ones that look like a someone nailed a bunch of Coke cans to a rotating metal pole and then you write some blurb about how it represents 'the essential organic tension between modern technology and lost ancient goddess cultures blah blah blah'. Meanwhile, you and the 'artist' are sitting at some spendy cafe (after picking up your checks from the Publically Funded Art Dept) bemoaning modern American culture. Nice work if you can get it. DirtyHarry Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Ha Ha. Â My sister's a website content editor and she used to work for one of those travel websites. Her job was to write those types of descriptions you allude to above for hotels and such that she'd never been too. Maybe she could get one of those art jobs though. Quote

Careful dude. Sounds like you're channeling me here.  Better self administer a dozen back-issues of "The Nation" or scroll through half as many threads over at Kosland post-haste and sleep it off.
