willstrickland Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Heard some rumblings through the grapevine that Mike sent City Park last week. Quote
RuMR Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 best part is it was a true redpoint...significantly harder than all of the previous ascents. Quote
G-spotter Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 best part is it was a true redpoint...significantly harder than all of the previous ascents. Â You don't think it was hard for Hugh Herr to cut his legs off? Quote
DCramer Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 (edited) Ah Mike's just avoiding the one route he fears...the one he hears calling to him in the night..whispering his name....the Bobcat Cringe....which is itself merely a warmup for the greatest unclimbed crack in Washington.... Bobcat Reality! Edited May 10, 2006 by DCramer Quote
olyclimber Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 wow. impressive...did he work on it for a while, or was it an onsite? Quote
TimL Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 A couple years ago Mike and I found a Bavarian Reality in Leavenworth. Doubt its been climbed either. Â I just tried a Spanish Reality this past weekend. Good thing is that its only a roof "boulder" reality problem. Quote
olyclimber Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 (edited) wow...that would have been something to watch!!! Was the gear pre-placed? <never mind, read Rumrs post above> Â Awesome. Wish I could have watched it in a lawn chair drinking a beer. Edited May 10, 2006 by olyclimber Quote
larrythellama Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 mike only rehearsed on tr about 20 times or so, never was able to do it clean. fired it 1st go last thursday. there are pics but mike is now a corperate whore so you all will have to wait to see them. Â i was not there to see it either. Â darryl, mike wished he didnt have to go to the valley or to pakistan this summer so he could stay at index...what a rough life. i would say look for him back at index this fall to crush. Quote
olyclimber Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 who is he whoring for? will we have to wait to see the pics in the next patagonia catalogue? Â damn, this is up there with any of the accomplishments this board has seen. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I wonder of Micro found the route to be vibrating with energy. I hope he at least followed nature's rules and joined nature in his ascent. Â Â Way to be bitchin Mike Quote
larrythellama Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 i know he drank a bunch of beer afterwards. Quote
tomtom Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Good. Now he can wipe his chalk graffiti off the route. Â Isn't climbing pin scars aid? Quote
