RuMR Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 hey...anyone wanna get a database/thread thing together for folks who have kids for weekend day get-togethers... its easier to have a bunch of families for these types of things!! Quote
archenemy Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 For what its worth, I think that's a good idea. I can assist with making a db with a web face so that folks could enter their contact info, kid stats, etc. Quote
fheimerd Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I'd be interested and I am located down in Portland. Quote
olyclimber Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 As I recall, Ulee is very interested in re-enacting scenes from Lord of the Flies with other chillen....last Kids Ropeup was pretty good fun. We'd be interested. Quote
kix Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 great idea, except for the possibility of exposing my pure unspoiled son to rope dabbery. Quote
olyclimber Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Ulee has climbed every conceivable line on this boulder Quote
RuMR Posted April 24, 2006 Author Posted April 24, 2006 WE NEED TO DO THIS!! ARCH...I'll email you later on this... gotta go get my kids to their swimming lessons or their teacher's gonna be pissed (i'm the teacher!) Quote
DirtyHarry Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 This is a way good idea. It'll give everyone something else to argue about on the internet - who's spawn is a better rock monkey. Quote
mountainmatt Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 My dad can climb harder than your dad! Quote
G-spotter Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 My dad can climb harder than your dad! "But MY daddy's a MODERATOR!" Quote
still_climbin Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I take my son climbing. He leads the hard stuff and I clean. Of course, I get to offer sage advise throughout the process and he does't get to give me any shit because that would be cruel to a man of my age. Quote
kix Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 cool, but listing your 40 year old son in the database might be a bit out of line with the intent here. Quote
kix Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Ulee has climbed every conceivable line on this boulder great boulder for kids. we should get together and publish the pre-teen perfunctory guide to 11worth bouldering. naturally we'll list all the FA's as belonging to our kids. Quote
MountaingirlBC Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Sign us up too please. We're in Vancouver but happy to come south. Or we also have this little crag up here called Squamish you might want to check out. Hopefully we can get some gear swapping going too. I hate buying new gear for kids cuz they grow so fast. Quote
archenemy Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 These picks are awesome! Obviously we need a kiddie forum--these tykes are rockin!!! Maybe we can tie this in to the cc.com site cleanly--administrator, what is your advice? Quote
Blake Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 In a few years, Luke's baby/rock prodigy will be onsighting your kid's projects Quote
Skeezix Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 We're in. What are the shoes that kid in the top photo is wearing? Quote
olyclimber Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 the sendbot is featuring La Sportiva shoes of unknown model. He also has a pair of Cobras waiting for when he outgrows this pair. I bought them up at Cascade Crags when they were getting rid of thier inventory a year or two ago. Quote
MountaingirlBC Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 It would be SO great to have some other kids to climb with. What the photos don't show is the hours of whining and be bribing, coaxing, me carrying two packs, etc. etc. on the approach. Having other kids around would make it easier. Here's a few more from an AWESOME location to take kids. Nice short approach and serious looking mountains with relatively easy routes on them but still technical enough that you need cool looking gear. I roped my kids up in a few sections mostly cuz they think it's fun but a couple of times for exposure. It's up north of Pemberton. It's a long drive from WA but you can spend a few days easily: Quote
MountaingirlBC Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 woohoo! 100 posts! How did that happen? Quote
whidbey Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 post ho?.. naw.. just kiddin. Great pictures of the kids! Good on you mom. whidbey Quote
olyclimber Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 looks like fun mtngirl. ulee would like to crush up there for sure. Quote
Couloir Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Maybe we can tie this in to the cc.com site cleanly--administrator, what is your advice? Certainly if we can have a Pirates Only-Pirates all the time! Forum we could certainly accomplish this. Quote
