I see that clearly some of you are not encumbered by the thought process. pitty.gifWe are not talking here about simple choice or preference. We are talking about a choice in which you are forced to give up something to get something else.

 

The Earthquake/Hurricane analogy works because except for New England, any place you live in the US has either eartquakes or hurricanes. Not sure if any location really has both (California has seen hurricane, but not since 1938).

The interesting thing about private/public schools is how people make the choice. Some people see socialization as very important, while others don't.

How about giving up time for selfish self-indulgent bliss in the mountains in order to be socially productive in your work in an effort to save the mountains for some other anonymous selfish self-indulgent person? Now that's a compromise ... or maybe it isn't.
