jmace Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 I have never been and with squamish weekend forecast looking crappy I was wondering if this might be a place to go, is it usually dy there, and what is the best city fore ast to look at I looked at wenatchee and skyomish, and it looks like a decent or reasonble forecast. Any input would be appreciated, cheers Quote
Mark_Husbands Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 look at leavenworth weather, or eastern slope mountain forecast on NOAA site. skykomish will be wetter. I think its a great cragging area. i've been several times when the rain was visible just to the west but it was dry enough to climb and sit out the occasional sprinkle. Quote
thelawgoddess Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 look at forecasts for leavenworth, wa - it is a city, and you can at least find it on weather.com. it tends to be pretty dry there, but - as always - you go at your own risk. this weekend is maifest. bring your lederhosen!!! Quote

thelawgoddess Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 are you referring to your leather boots as "lederhosen"??? thigh-high leather boots --> for women ... lederhosen --> for men ... Quote
specialed Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 It would be cool if Lederhosen came back as a hot fashion item. Maybe if the Uber Brothers started sporting them on the next free send of El Cap. That would be ripper. Quote
Squid Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 That was scary fast. Do you have that page bookmarked? Quote
Squid Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 I don't know about lederhosen, but I hear sped's got a swell collection of chaps. Quote
thelawgoddess Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 That was scary fast. Do you have that page bookmarked? not exactly, but i knew i had to find those pics. not only do they wear lederhosen, but they can f'ing climb. *AND* they speak german. man ... they would be so perfect for leavenworth! Quote
Bill_Simpkins Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 You know what? Even in Bellingham, the forcast said rain rain rain all this week. It's nice today, was nice yesterday. They show today on the forcast as nice and tommorrow as rain and the next day as rain. Its been like that all week, current day nice, rest of week rain. Conclusion: just go there, if its raining, go see a movie or get drunk. Quote
thelawgoddess Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 or go kayaking. or mountain biking. or shopping for nutcrackers. Quote
bouldergirl27 Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 no, no, no... wait, make that, nein, nein, nein - du must die Apfeln essen. okay, forget my horrible german - eat one of the three pound "caramel" apples, forget movie watching or anything active. and i'll probably pass you in the forest somewhere, yay for leavenworth! It sounds like there will be a lot of people in L-worth regardless. Could make for an interesting night at Uncle Uli's (or wherever) if it rains. Quote
Bill_Simpkins Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Again, the weather forcast for today in Bellingham said yukky and rainy. It's very nice out! I think their philosophy is that they would rather be blamed the weather was good when forcasted bad, than the weather was bad when forcasted good. Or they try to keep people from making plans so people stay inside and watch more advertisements. Quote
thelawgoddess Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 the forecast still only shows a 30% chance of precip. compare that to squamish's 90% and index's 70/80% ... so, 70% chance of NO precip. those are pretty good odds. Quote
specialed Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Go to the Pinnacles if its rainy. Or are they still closed? Quote
eternalX Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 heading up to leavenworth tonight. are there guide books in town or should i stop by rei on the way? What's the best bar to hit in lworth? and the best food? Quote
