WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Saikhan bain aa. How's your Mongolian coming along? I can barely remember the sounds... your pictures remind me of a saying my friend taught me in Khentii-- "Emectei khun khavariin tenger shig ashtei." Loosely translated as "a woman's spirit is like the sky in spring..." Not the best pick up line but you'll get a few laughs while drinking arkhi with the boys. Have fun and be safe. bigdrink.gif

great pics! I was in outer mongolia in 2000 but since it was border region there was not a soul around. The scenery was spectacular though... your pics take me back. Thanks!

The challenge was "Boulder a yak" not "boulder a camel". Have you sent any AV-equipped dummies yet?

That's sick! Nice camel. Doing any fishing there? Apparently, Mongolia bosts some of the world's best trout streams.

They got Taimen, largest salmonid in the world. This is a small one. Apparently you fish for them by floating large rates (or small children) through the deeper pools.

Across the border Lake Baikal has fresh water seals, among other oddities.

A fresh water seal sounds more like an "otterty" to me snaf.gif

"Looks like you blew your fresh water seal..."

"No, it's just fermented mare's milk" blush.gif
