iain Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 that one dude in the red in the middle looks like he has some mutant head growing out of his left arm. Quote
iain Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 I'm also a little concerned about the other guy in red who does not have a helmet on while he engages in idle chit-chat with the mutant guy Quote
Dru Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 Urban Assault!!! Those chunks of plywood must make it at least A0+ Quote
Bogen Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 OMG that baby is funny! I can just imagine his friends coming up with that clip when he's in junior high school... Quote
Squid Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 I really wanna know where this pic was taken The ugly industrial beige walls look vaguely familiar, but I just can't place it. Anyone? Quote
Ireneo_Funes Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 It's the return of glissading-in-shorts guy! Quote
Dru Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 The guy right in the foreground with the lime green helmet has shorts and gaiters, and cold knees. Quote
iain Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Invasion! Is everyone in this photo roped up? It looks that way. Wow. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Atleast they haven't started putting up their portaledges ... yet. Quote
Squid Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 I hadn't noticed until now that the woman in blue was aiding "Pipeline & No Parking." That line has gone free since '82. Quote

Dru Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Good thing they are almost all wearing helmets. The pigeon action in commercial zoned urban areas can be intense! Quote
DirtyHarry Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 If you're gunna wear lycra, it might as well be pink. Quote

klenke Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 I really wanna know where this pic was taken I think (am pretty sure) that's the Mountie Building on Lower Queen Anne. There is an open lot on the north side of the building and that looks like it. This jives with the title of the jpeg image ("North Wall"). Quote
AlpineK Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Yeah, I'm sure it is. I know they were building an aid climbing practice wall at the club house. Yes Mike I did watch the video...kids do the craziest things. Quote
tomtom Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 (edited) I'm famous! That's the north wall of the Mountaineers building in lower Queen Anne. The class is for beginning aid climbing. I'm on the wall in the center with the light brown fleece. Later we practice hauling systems and rappelling with haul bags. The wall is also used to practice using portaledges and vertical camping. Inside, there are ropes set up for jugging, passing a knot on ascent and descent, lower-outs, and Tyrolean traverses. You too can register for the next class starting in the spring. After taking this class in the spring, I climbed Liberty Crack in the summer (Hi Alpinfox!) and Lost Arrow Spire and the Prow in Yosemite. Good times.
