Paco Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Shut up cracked. The weather does look lousy for the weekend. Sunny weather up until Friday evening. So where is everyone climbing this weekend? L-Worth seems like the best bet. I suppose stone gardens is always an option. Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Looks like a great weekend for mountain biking, wait my wheel might not be fixed by then. Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 I'll likely be working this weekend. Staying in the city on the weekends is cool sometimes as well. It's a good chance to stop by the farmers' markets and pick up some fresh produce. Quote
lancegranite Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Christ, doesn'tt anybody ever burn skis anymore? You gotta pay to play... Quote

Ireneo_Funes Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 So we get bad weather now, and wildfires later. Nice - the best of both worlds. Quote
nolanr Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 We've been on the nice weather during the week, crap for weather in the mountains on the weekend pattern for a month or more. Bah humbug! Quote
layton Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 So we get bad weather now, and wildfires later. Nice - the best of both worlds. I don't understand how that's the best of BOTH worlds. Seems one sided to me. please explain what's good besides no wildfires? Quote

catbirdseat Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 I worked on trail building in the Darrington RD. My group of 10 rebuilt about 400 ft of badly eroded tread on a steep slope. The rain held off while we worked Saturday and only set in as we hiked out. On the road back into town we encountered a number of cars pulled off the road with people milling about. We stopped to inquire about what was going on and learned that they were searching for a dog that had been missing for 11 days. They had lost two beagle/hound mix dogs and one had been recovered and turned into the ranger station. The other was reported seen on the road where we found the people searching. Just about everyone had plunged into the brush calling the dog, when this very skinny animal comes onto the road looking very skittish. A white pickup pulled up belonging to the owner who managed to grab ahold of the frightened beast. The dog was tied in the bed of the pickup with its nose in a bucket of chow as we left. That probably wasn't the best idea for them to let it eat ad lib, starved as it was. Quote
Lambone Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 It was totaly clear and sunny at Shasta, and the moon lit up the South Side like a spot light...but the damn wind was fierce and pretty much ruined the experience. Never had wind alone be a total showstopper...leave it to Shasta I guess. Quote
gapertimmy Posted June 7, 2004 Author Posted June 7, 2004 ditto lambone, first time i had ever been weathered off by wind on a bluebird day! Quote
