A famous climber wrote this in his diary and it is quoted in his biography:

 

"A great hardness is setting in, and I am increasingly able to treat the petty and the mundane with utter contempt...I will do many things for people I respect, and for fools nothing. They deserve to be trampled on."

 

Any guesses as to who [smile] it might surprise you!

JON Muir is a crazy Australian guy from Arapiles who climbed Everest and wears hand sewn rabbit fur clothes.

 

Naw you are all still way off. Here are two hints.

 

1) It is a guy, who is dead now.

 

2) It was written in the 1960's.

 

So much for Twight, Stevie Haston, etc.
