Well I guess there is to angles... the guy writing the article said all he could think about was the murder of a women. All I think about is the great horror films i usta watch. I've seen all the freddy movies, and like horror films, so I don't think about real life murder at all when I look at the grafic. You'd have to have the grafice explained to you to know what it is depicting anyways... Its a blod step, and I think the grafic is cool, but that is also coming from a guy who loves Rob Zombie, which is just horror music...

just a note: If thats what rossi was trying to depict, than I think they could of done a better job of it... I think joe blow is a little wacked out on his distasted for the grafic. its not like we've seen any real media attention over the thing...

well, how is this any different from any of the violence in the media, or on the evening news? is this ski graphic going to make a kid go out and slash throats in his classroom ala Marlyn Manson music? I could agree that the graphic is in poor taste, and definately not as cool as the old Scratch graphics, but honestly i think t-tips dude, went a bit far with posting the simpson murder scene photo.

what was with the article that had a picture of simpson? uhm... totally un-related jah? seemed like he was trying to say it was her, but without saying it... thumbs_down.gif just a stunt to get more hits. rolleyes.gif

i missed the video. i can't say i'm really surprised by rossi, though. i wasn't really "impressed" with the original scratch graphic either. do you think that says anything about their sponsored skiers and/or target audience?

Rossi responds....

I dunno how I feel about this. I never saw the vid either, but the graphic is not all that graphic, IMO.

Maybe the rep's attitude was more of a problem?

Really, should we all be boycotting hollywood too? I mean they made the freddy films first. rolleyes.gif

Violence against anyone sux, and I would sure prefer a nubile silhouette to the slasher graphic.

Really I don't know if I am offended or not. I do know I won't be selling my Mega Bangs because of this though. laugh.gif

Oh, yeah. I thought the pic of Nicole Simpson was the most graphic/disturbing/gratuitous part of the whole thing. frown.gif

I don't know where I really stand on this issue of violence, sexism, and homophobia in the industry or for that matter in society. I am not violent, homophobic, or sexist, but I feel images or jokes about these things don't affect me adversely. I can even crack up about jokes made about my heritage or self too and realize that is all it is, a joke. As for violence and the depiction of it, jeezs it's everywhere, tv, radio, theater, movies, sports, politics, doesn't mean it is right, but there is no way of not seeing it. After all we are a violent creature, if you don't think we are, just take a look at history, violence in society is nothing new. Sometimes I feel we are or trying to be too PC, trying to control the animalist tendencies that we have. Instead I really believe we need to accept these things in ourselves, recognize our true animalistic tendencies, and use our hearts, spirit, and mind to move beyond inflicting these negative traits that we have on society. So I guess where I stand on this issue is that Rossi should have every right to depict these imges of horror on their skis if they want. Is it any worse than what is on tv? We as a consumer have a choice whether or not we support them in there decision. Luckily for them there was input from the public about their design, they could have had a major flop if no one told them that they found the graffics revolting.

With that said though, I realize that I don't think, behave, react the same way everybody else does to these things. And yes there are people out there that can be adversely affect by these images, in more ways than one. There are those who see stuff like that and can interpet it ok to do shit like that. And then there are those whose are hurt by those images whether it is by one who thinks ok to slash anothers throat or by trauma that may have happened before.

Another poor decision made by the marketing departement of a ski/board company (K2 in this case).

"Snowboard Maker's Anti-Gay Banner"

That was ferkin funny dood! I say shit like that all the time... I liked the banner, and didn't think it was anti-homo at all... saying "your gay" to youthful american is saying your weird, your funny, your stupid; it has nothing to do with some ones sexual preferance.... you know, a joke. I think people are just to uptight, and need to laugh a lot more..........

well, maybe you think it's funny because [i'm assuming] you're not a homosexual. saying "you're gay" to someone may not have anything to do with that particular person's sexuality, but it certainly does have negative connotations that stem from homophobia. i can see the humor in it, but i also see the gross negativity ... and - if nothing else - it reeks of poor taste.
