sk Posted December 21, 2003 Author Posted December 21, 2003 (edited) my personal goal are to find a way to enjoy the mountains in the winter so I don't hate it so. I would love to ski down amountain and enjoy the back country at some point. But i feel like much of that is realy long term and that I have much to learn in the mean time. I am not in a big hurry. Life is LONG THANK YOU so much billy MTguid and lawgodess and all for all the great tips and help. I am off to the ski shop to get info and try on boots and get recomindations on classes. I see this as a life long exploration. and not somethin I am likely to pick up in a short amount of time. I figure as long as I continune to move, the path will apear in front of me. I don't know if I will be a good skier, and I don't think that realy matters in the long run, as long as I am out, and having fun jeez now I guess I have to learn to drive in the snow too again, THANK YOU Edited December 21, 2003 by Muffy_The_Wanker_Sprayer Quote
thelawgoddess Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 you don't really have to worry about learning to drive in the snow ... they have buses for that. Â i really hope you like skiing. personally, i like it even more than climbing. (GASP!) Quote
marylou Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 Dood, I will always be happy to give you lessons in snow driving, it's just the skiing in snow thing, well that is where you have to hire the guy or gal to teach you thing kicks in... Quote
EWolfe Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 I was wondering what your last name was. Â You should hang out with your countryman Bob. Quote
Dru Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 I figure as long as I continune to move, the path will apear in front of me. Â In skiing, I have found, sometimes when I continue to move, a tree will appear in front of me. Quote
iain Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 the key is NOT to look at the tree. Otherwise prepare to make some lovin' with Doug Fir. Quote
iain Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 and for you PDX skiers, Mt Hood south side is SICK right now...the stretch from west crater down over by i-rock is in incredible shape. won't last long though, might be gone already. Quote

I'll echo the sentiment. Even if you're looking for a non-existant ice-runnel, eh? Â Definitely some of the most consistently good conditions I've seen on Hood. The best line would be the west face below Crater Rock. I'd have thrashed through the grimness on the upper Palmer if I hadn't seen your lines looking so sweet, Iain. Kinda grabby down low, but a solid 9 for a big mountain ski. Quote
iain Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 yeah cutting hard skier's right coming off crater rock put you in some of the best snow down. unbelievable we were making first tracks at that time! Quote
jaee Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 The pointy ends go in front. Unless she got some twin tips or should I say Quote
thelawgoddess Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 twins rock. no pointy ends on my skis, thank you! of course, sometimes i forget which way is forwards and which way is backwards, though. Â muffy, when are you going skiing??? Quote
