Off_White Posted August 28, 2003 Posted August 28, 2003 Most folks allow as how London Calling was the Clash's peak album, they had good stuff before and after, but that album marked their creative peak. Listening right now to Rancid's Out Come The Wolves, as Junkie Man kicks in, it is eminently clear to me that this is without a doubt their London Calling. Sure, later albums had their moments, but nothing has had the overall coherence that denotes "greatness." For example, some might argue that the Beatles had their London Calling moment with Sgt. Peppers, but I'm curious to know what others thing constitute the peak of various other bands. Quote

Has to be a single album or performance, and should have been released while they are still a band Quote

bunglehead Posted August 28, 2003 Posted August 28, 2003 It does? Well it is a complete live show, just out of order, plus a bit of another show, and if the rules are it had to be released while they were together, then yeah, maybe IV. But I don't know, all of the first four are pretty damn good. Quote

iain Posted August 28, 2003 Posted August 28, 2003 I think Ween's Chocolate and Cheese is a superior album to Mollusk but personal pref maybe. Maybe I've just done too many cool things listening to it and so I like it now through association. Quote
