Sphinx Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 Do you speak English? "I wear always my helmet." Not gramatically correct. What an idiot. Quote

Necronomicon Posted August 26, 2003 Author Posted August 26, 2003 Me english bad? That unpossible! The all fuck you off. Quote
Sphinx Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 Excluding Necro, I believe that everyone should wear a helmet. I've had friends avoid serious injury while sport climbing due to their helmets. All it takes is the rope to catch behind your leg, then you flip and smack your head in the wall. Climbing's dangerous enough. Quote
Ursa_Eagle Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 close Necro, but it's: "Me fail English? That's unpossible!" -Ralph Wiggum Quote
lummox Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 i wear ______ my helmet climbing ice and on loose-rock crags and alpine routes. and i think people who decorate their helmets with manufacturer stickers are lame. Quote

Yeah, I didn't even wear a helmet until I started sport climbing I know, it makes no sense at all, but when I climbed only trad, it just seemed like my partners were more careful. Now I wear one all the time. I'm always bonking my head! The nice thing about my helmet is it makes my massive porkchop head look like it's normal sized. Quote

Mr._Natural Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 luckily every time i have fallen and hit my head i have been wearing a helmet. Quote

Those things just make you top-heavy and prone to tipping over. You're much safer without them, or if you do wear one, you should wear ankle weights to balance things out. To do otherwise is just asking for disaster! Quote

Thinker Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 I almost always wear it. Always when leading, often when TRing, esp if there's activity at the top of the cliff. Awhile back a kid climbing a neighboring TR kicked off some rocks that showered down on all at the base of the crag. Some who didn't have their hemets on yet made a point of donning them. Quote
bird Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 How about when there are dipshits above you showering you with small rocks and biners? Never been hit, but a few have come damn close. Quote
Rod_Xuereb Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 Even a simple short crevasse fall turns out a lot different if you hit your head on the side of the hole without a helmet. Don't leave home without it. Quote
Attitude Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 And don't forget to have your name on it. Quote
Thinker Posted August 26, 2003 Posted August 26, 2003 So do the people who put their names on their climbing helmets write their names on their bike helmets and ski helmets, too? Quote
