Greg_W Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 I'm supposed to go climbing there this weekend, but I DO have some laundry. Does anyone know a good laundromat in the area? Thanks, man. Quote
erik Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 now that greg is a sport climber, he is going to break down even further into the vile depths of the rasta knit cap scene and prance through the forest loving the pebbles. and with thus dirty draws from the sit start(he is still a tradddy (no pad!)) sk Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 (edited) This is not realy a bad or strange idea. The woman that tought me to climb used to climb at Smiff alot in the winter. To kill some time on the long cold nights, her and her boyfriend would take all their laundry and do it in Redmond. They got to stay warm, and the Laundry got done, and they got to climb all weekend EVERY WEEKEND WIN:WIN Edited July 25, 2003 by Muffy_The_Wanker_Sprayer Quote
iain Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 used to be a place in corvallis called suds'n'suds where you could get loaded while doing laundry. I was too young to understand the brillance, much less take advantage of this establishment, unfortunately. Quote
Dru Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 there is a place on denman street in vancouver which is a combo laundromat/cafe/tanning salon Quote

Dude, clean clothes are key to a serious send on a redpoint project with draws hanging which requires bumping up, gastoning, matching, etc. Those are some of the sportclimbing words I learned yesterday!!!! Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 New vocab to learn before next sporting outing: Flag, cross-over, cross-under, rose move, sick mono-doigts, your fault, shitty conditions. Study up, there may be a quiz! Quote
Greg_W Posted July 25, 2003 Author Posted July 25, 2003 Yeah, hanging with Rudy is like hanging with a French guy without the bad body odor; I could only understand, like, every third word or something. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 Don't worry, Greg; if you get lost with the lingo, just keep smiling, nodding, looking stoked, and interjecting the occasional incredulous, awestruck, or congratulatory "dude!", and you're good to go. Most sport climbers will never know the difference. Maybe a "sounds/looks pretty sick, bro" for good measure. Quote
chucK Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 shouldn't he work "reacharound" in there somewhere too? That's a sportclimbing term isn't it? Quote

Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 Technically, "reacharound" belongs in the "words to live by" category. Quote

I did hear two sportclimbers talking about a 'chocolate trombone'; at first I thought it was just another weird sporto word, then I realized what they were talking about and got the hell out of there.
