Huh? Your pedaling a bike! It's the same damn muscles - different intervals, but the same motions. How are they different?
I actually enjoy running in the cold & rain. It's the only time I don't overheat.
How bout an accident that should have resulted in a manslaughter conviction (teddy k, mrs w ?)
And if you think it's "less than perfect" how'd you feel if half of the soldiers in Iraq decided to go home?
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr . . . the NWS are such massive gapers!!!!!
There were a few spots of windblown pow and some mid-winterish stuff between the spots of death crust:
6"s huh? Nice.
Twasn't bad - and because it's T-Line, those stashes stayed all day; kudos for getting that high, looked nasty (for skiing) above the Palmer on Saturday. Praise Ullr! He shall deliver!
There's also decent skate skiing on main street in Govy.
splitboarders use splits because they like snowboarding. tele skiiers tele ski because they like tele skiing.
rando skiiers like to ski and get places.
Fat skis are a miniscule handicap compared to the structural deficincies of a splitboard.
That's the advantage of a flash player - no skips, no $$$ player, almost disposable. Doesn't mean I'm not planning to get an iPod, I just know I don't want to take it everywhere (skinning in the morning, bike to work, running, etc.)
$395 is the exchange rate Barrabes uses on their site; I don't know what they bill in. Free shipping to the US on all orders over $350.
$395 can't be that much more than US wholesale - aren't retail margins on hardgoods like 30-40%? Even if not, $630 is still exorbitant.
And you dry towels at 0F outside by body heat, too, right?
I used to run wearing dryskinE pants and silkweight at 0F (fing rochester ). I was cold at the start of the run, and rarely broke a sweat. They are nice, but no piece of clothing has a 100 degree temperature range.
For $50 you can buy a refurb'd Rio S30. It takes SD Cards, which many digi cameras take as well. For $75 you can buy a 1GB SD card = $125 for 1GB of music. You can get 512MB and 256MB SD cards even cheaper. Best deal on an MP3 player I've found, and if you break it you won't cry.
yes. fixed heel.
E-Rock. I was on a hut trip w/a 10 mile approach, 6 or so is meadow flat. Sure, splitboarders made it in. Sure they can log vertical. Did it look like the best tool for the job - hell no.
West System Epoxy isn't flammable, it's expensive, requires relatively warm temperatures to cure properly, and it isn't anywhere near the best stuff to use on rock. So why do you use it?
There's a least one pair of Denali's out there. It's nothing a dremel tool, epoxy, some fittings, and some help from Lou can't change

Substitute "Garmont North America" for "Garmont". Even with the Euro 50% higher than it was 2 years ago you can buy a brandnew 04-05 Megaride online, delivered from Europe for $415. That's $180 less than US retail. You can get Adrenalin's delivered from Europe for $395. That's $240 less than US retail. That's not tariffs or other taxes, that's the markup for the worthless North American distributorships
It's supposed to be less stiff; how much so seems to vary person to person. But then, I've heard all kinds of relative stiffness comparison between boots. Megarides are stiffer than Denalis, no they aren't Adrenalins are stiff, no they aren't
lightest, yes
weakest, no
There seem to be a number of Euro skimountaineers/tourers who mount Dynafits on fat/burly boards - they obviously like them. Now if they'd just make a brake to fit
Ask Garmont to drop their prices 10%. $630
