  1. Spray is more like bs talk around the campfire. The only difference is you might have folks at the campfire that you normally wouldn't have at or invite to the campfire. TRs are usually stories about climbing. Yep writing styles can vary with users. At the very least they provide interested people with: route information, current conditions, or a source to questions about those things. Really good TRs have pictures too. If you don't have time or don't like the writing you can just look at pictures. Perhaps Kevbone would be happier if there was a way to post TRs in Spray searchable like the real TRs. Of course if I'm searching real TRs I want to exclude the Spray TRs. I'd really like to exclude Spray TRs by Kevbone.
  2. I got a message from a friend in North Idaho saying one of the tiny ski areas there recently had 19 inches of snow on the ground. In a worst case scenerio you'll either climb higher or travel a bit more to find what you're looking for.

  4. I'm sorry to hear the news. A long time ago a climbing accident killed a good friend of mine. I still think about him.

You see that they posted on a thread, perhaps in response to you, but all you see is a message saying, "you are ignoring this user," however when another user quotes them then you see what they said. Try it out. You can always stop ignoring a user after a bit.

    Pig Roast

I've been to one pig roast while in France. They pretty much followed the procedures Bug describes. It was good ...
  9. Right on I've only seen photos from an older AAJ. Climbing the buttress from the east fork of the Kahiltna is pretty hard core. It's interesting comparing the conditions they encountered as opposed to the ones I remember. They had a lot more pure rock climbing on the ridge.
  10. You must be older than I thought. No kidding. Grandpa needs a lid
  11. Climbers need to tell their non climbing concerned friends/SO that as a climber they have a bunch of these saved up [img:center]http://www.sancarlosblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/monopoly-get-out-of-jail-free-card.jpg[/img] All of them are good for a 24 hour time period.
  12. I new that was going on. Thanks for finding the link. Bad ass stuff

    dawgs!

Did the Huskies set any record last Saturday? The Vandals felt sorry for them. The Huskies aren't in the WAC, so it wasn't a big deal. Once back in the Kibbie Dome they returned to kicking ass Vandals roll past San Diego State I should add, they kept their dome stadium, in fact they fixed it up. 14. Not to knock the hosts age, but the older you get the less familiar you become with technology. I can usually tell by guessing a client's age whether to email or regular mail a document. Last year it was a traditional rowdy crowd that caused the problem. The host though has heard bad stories about internet communication. He doesn't understand the media, so he focused on the bad internet stories and forgot about how other bad apples organized in the past with only letters, flyers, phone calls, or even suddenly while fuelled by . Yep, he'll be watching this get together like a hawk.

  16. I just hit two years straight of skiing at least once a month. If nothing else it's a good workout, and you get to slide on snow as a reward for your effort.
  17. Trip: Muir Snowfield - The standard ski route down Date: 9/8/2009 Trip Report: Muir on Tuesday After seeing the recent skiing stoke thread I figured it would be fun to put this on the board. Back last Friday a few of us started talking about upcoming weather. According to NOAA Labor Day weekend was going to generate some snow up high then Tuesday would have sunny skies. As far as I was concerned that meant Tuesday was an ideal day to ski. Amar A and I drove up to Paradise on Tuesday. No freshiez at Paradise, but we could see fresh looking white stuff above. Freshiez for sure, but I like my skis too much to ski this. Upper Muir snowfield. Not surprisingly we weren't the first to think of skiing on a sunny day after new snowfall. Here's the obligatory shot of the party at Muir Freshiez from Muir to Pebble Creek Quite a fun day. The standard Muir snowfield ain't rad gnar, but it can be fun. There were only a few inches of new snow on top of older snow. Given the temperatures it will probably melt by tomorrow, but it's a start. Gear Notes: Bring snow sliding gear Approach Notes: The snowfield is well traveled and there's an obvious track to Muir on a nice day. Be very scared if visibility is poor. Route finding really sucks if the weather isn't good.
  18. I was part of a snow dance yesterday. Freshiez!
  19. I've got some silvretta 404s I could be talked into selling. They work fine with mountaineering boots. I'm not sure about skis. In the old days I had a pair of 120s, but that was at a time when everybody had that length AT skis. These days the bindings are on really old Volkl 190 that are heavy

    dawgs!

That's what I get for doing a quick search for stats. At least the Vandals won 2 games Hmmm no wins vs sound drubbing. I'm not sure what to say about that. Sorry Wayne things aren't off to a good start (for you at least) # 11 wins Vandals beat NMSU 21-6 I should add this: The Huskies could set a record next Saturday

[img:center]http://www.nflfootballpicks.org/content_images/lsu-girl(4)-a.jpg[/img] LSU vs Washington Then the Huskies go up against the Vandals next weekend. Let's see, last year the Huskies had a 0 and 9 record while the Vandals were 2 and 10. That would be 0% team vs a 17% team. I can't wait
  22. That section of I-70 is kind of dull if I remember right. I could see the point of complaints if it was full frontal nudity. It hardly seems that bad. [img:center]http://j.b5z.net/i/u/2017580/i/Silt_in_a_Roundabout_Way.jpg[/img]
  23. I like this photo with Sir Sanford in the distance. [img:center]http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/plab/data/504/medium/Carl_snow_ridge_800.jpg[/img] I skied in there a few years ago. We talked about skiing to Sir Sanford, but we never did. I'm going to have to go there again.
