  1. Back when they were popular in the 80s I had a sticker saying, "Baby Dragging Beneath," with a happy looking fellow in the yellow diamond sticker. That got a few looks.
  2. Umm whoever has the authority to marry you church priest, Judge, or Bozo De Clown. has to see your marriage license. The wedding is just a ceremony conducted by anyone with the authority. If you're against gay marriage then Don't get one Only pick a priest or whatever who doesn't perform gay marriages Otherwise STFU
  3. I'm pretty sure Nitrox wants marriage to [img:center]http://i27.tinypic.com/1052qky.gif[/img] In a church no less
  4. I went in via the North Sauk Google Map The road in is just fine. I've heard the White Chuck river road is close to being finished, but the trail to Kennedy is still a mess.
  5. Thanks E. I liked the Liberty Ridge ski TR you were part of. LR is still on my list.
  6. Climbing over the arch instead of spelunking is pretty cool.
  7. I'd forgotten that camping at the Cascade Pass parking lot was a no no. That fact doesn't matter though. If you drive down valley past the Eldorado parking lot you're out of the park. There is a Forest Service campground and a number of pull outs where you wouldn't get in trouble for camping at. You can drive the last couple miles to the parking lot in the morning. "buy a permit"
  8. Trip: Glacier Peak - Cool-Gerdine Glacier Date: 7/8/2010 Trip Report: Glacier Peak has been on my mind for awhile. It's one thing to be picky about which aspect or route you ski on a mountain, but when you've never skied any route on a mountain that's worse. Glacier was my only unskied volcano. Around Memorial Day friends and I talked about Glacier Peak, but the weather gods didn't want to play along. Since then I've been watching conditions. Eventually I saw a solid forecast of good weather, so I figured now was the time. On the afternoon of July 6th I took off for the North Sauk parking lot. I got to the trailhead with daylight to spare, so I hiked to a camping site up the river. The next morning I got up early and started the long slog up the trail towards White Mountain. It sure was hot on Wednesday. Eventually I made it to a notch on the north ridge of White Mountain. Siestas sure add to your hiking time I'd heard that there were good camp sites further towards White Chuck mountain, but I figured I'd just make a long summit day, so I set up my camp and took another nap. Thursday was another nice day I awoke at first light and started skiing. Glacier in the morning [img:center]http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rxgbPHdbZ9I/TDjjBeXTKnI/AAAAAAAAAlc/ZcAkGPtQkJ4/20-Glacier-morning-IMG_3000.gif[/img] The White Chuck, "glacier," is a slog, but eventually you get to Glacier Gap [img:center]http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rxgbPHdbZ9I/TDjjBTq3xdI/AAAAAAAAAlg/JVo5dSQDeS4/s912/9-Glacier-glacier_gap_Panor.gif[/img] Gerdine Glacier under Disappointment Peak [img:center]http://lh5.ggpht.com/_rxgbPHdbZ9I/TDjjBezzvSI/AAAAAAAAAlk/gFzYVBMGSu4/15-Tracks-Under-Disapointme.gif[/img] I ran into a group of four climbers descending from the top. We exchanged greetings and moved on. Eventually I skied on to the Cool Glacier then up the summit tower. Conditions were good and ski crampons were sufficient for the last steep bit. Summit camp [img:center]http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rxgbPHdbZ9I/TDjjBpT1rWI/AAAAAAAAAlo/xnFdNspVUqA/12-summit2--IMG_2979.gif[/img] After a brief rest I was downward bound. [img:center]http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rxgbPHdbZ9I/TDjjBw53vII/AAAAAAAAAls/Fycn9b9TfEw/13-Top-Down-IMG_2980.gif[/img] Here's a video I took [video:youtube] (The video is doubled, so actually 4 minutes) I made it back to camp at 2 PM and hid from the heat. While I was out one of the local marmots decided the salt on one of my pack shoulder and waist strap was yummy. I spent the rest of the day figuring out how to jury rig my pack for my trip out. Nice evening view [img:center]http://lh3.ggpht.com/_rxgbPHdbZ9I/TDjjUl1EaRI/AAAAAAAAAl0/tAzzKpMdreU/s912/18-Glacier-Evening_Panorama.gif[/img] The next day the snow was hard enough that the traverse to White pass went smoothly. [img:center]http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rxgbPHdbZ9I/TDjjUtLhqEI/AAAAAAAAAl4/_wG1OHncv9Q/21-Traverse-IMG_3002.gif[/img] (I put a red dot at the camp/ridge crossing) From there it was back to walking View of Sloan Peak [img:center]http://lh4.ggpht.com/_rxgbPHdbZ9I/TDjjU4tI_II/AAAAAAAAAl8/tZy_xC6m6XQ/23-Sloan-IMG_3005.gif[/img] After a long trek with gear I sure was happy to see the parking lot. Fun times! Gear Notes: Watch out for marmots! Approach Notes: Right now there is patchy snow up to White pass and solid snow beyond.

    fucking idiots

If we're rounding to the nearest 5 then 73 is 75, but maybe they should round to the nearest 10. sickie
  10. Next time you go there Do not camp at Cascade Pass. You're lucky a ranger wasn't there to see your campsite. Camping out at the car lets you get an early start. Sahale should be a one day climb from the car. If you were to camp I believe you can up high on Sahale Arm, but not without a permit. Camping doesn't involve permits to the south, as in Cashe Col or south, since you leave the park.
  11. Yep bad idea
  12. Well the 11worth guidebook came was with us. A coffee table version might be nice, but a 3 ring binder style would be better. All kinds of reference material for work comes in that style. Sure you can copy and take a section of the guide based on where you're climbing. On the other hand while at the crag the subject might come up, "Should we go somewhere else, or what should we climb tomorrow?" With a guide you can make plans. As for making your partner carry the guide things would be a lot easier for you if your partner carried the rope and rack too.
  13. Last weekend while cragging in Leavenworth we discussed guidebooks. They often appear to be coffee table books and lack the functional design of something you throw in your pack on your way to a crag. Ya ain't looking for a glossy, beautiful, and heavy reference book at the crag. A light book that can handle a beating is more important.
  14. Happy 4th sobo [video:youtube]

    Fixed it More importantly
  16. We need to stop doing things that start with the letter S. Cause ya know Socialism starts with the letter S. [video:youtube] BillyBobNeck would tell you Sport Climbing is another path to socialism.
  17. I just went and voted for you and against the morons posting there.

    Biggest Sprayer?

Shite! Missed the Top 20 by one!!! But I'm only ~50 posts behind minx, so I should claw my way into it soon! Can we add Donkey Fellator to the total to help get you over the hump Paul? Donkey Fellator didn't have any posts, bill... Actually posts made as Donkey Fellator added to your post count sobo. As far as Kevbone goes, his comments about trip reports being spray is further proof his brain cell count has descended to about 10. A high mark of 20 isn't saying much of course.
  19. I guess posting vehicle accident fatality data then suggesting people give up driving is the best response.
  20. Now you really owe me.
  21. Ya know I briefly considered giving in to your cries to return to your former title. In this case however a few more laughs were well worth the delay. Messing with user profiles is a once in a blue moon kind of entertainment.
  22. Bad ass as usual Dan The bottom of the chute looked crazy + narrow.
  23. Right on Paul
