I think this medium of communication leads to missunderstanding and arguments by its very nature. A well written response takes time and effort; most people don't have the time to do that. I'm not sure what kind of folks you all climb with, but I've seen plenty of disfunctional behavior between climbers in real life. Which reminds me of a funny story I heard about 4 cc.com posters climbing at Index this last weekend...

Yep. Pack it up and head home. I just want to say that I was against going into Iraq for the reasons that are becoming painfully obvious right now. Sure there was no doubt in my mind that we could roll over their military, but trying to maintain control over a country where there are thousands and thousands of fly by night gorilla soldiers is ridiculous. On top of that we have little if any international support; and there was never a clearcut reason for war. In Gulf war 1 Iraq invaded another country; In Afganistan Osama Bin Laden was running terrorist camps. There was never a clearcut reason to go into Iraq. Now we're fucked, and this is all the fault of GW's administration.

AlpineK replied to Rich_Sheffield's topic in Climber's Board
Who the hell is this Fred Beckey guy? Maybe you should tell us a little more about him. -
If you obeyed your own injunctions you would not only have shut up but killed yourself long ago feel free! You been smoking with Erik lately? You haven't posted anything serious or relevant since your Cheam TR. most people think you've never posted anything worthwhile here Cracked. Perhaps you should quit posting and work on some self improvement. Here some help you desperately need

I'm disappointed that there isn't a consistent numbering system used on the route descriptions and topos/pics. What should happen. I want to climb Mary Jane Dihedral. I look it up as route #158 I then go to the pic and see route #158 labled. Or working back from the pic works well this way too. Instead the guide makes you go through an intermediate step of deciphering abbreviations in the pics and then you have to find the route description without reference numbers.

We'll see what happens. It's not like us WA staters have much say in the primary. It's mostly over before we get to vote. Don't forget thet if the roles were reversed WA state repubs wouldn't get much of a say either. Looking at the big picture the Democratic contender to Bush has to be really really shity before I wouldn't vote for them. BTW How about that John McCain sponsoring anti global warming legislation. It's good to see that there are still some old school republicans out there still; instead of the modern right wing moral majority fuckhead repubs who want to screw everyone but the ultra rich.

Bitter Pill, but you'll enjoy many years of climbing in the future if you do what the Doc tells you for a couple months.

Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter, In there stepped a mouthy canuck of the saintly days of yore; A constant squawking made he; not an instant stopped or stayed he; But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door — Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door — Perched, and sat, squawked and squawked, nothing more. Quoth the Sprayshaw...I suck

I love presidents of of both parties claiming responsibility for good news that they might or might not have effected. When bad news happens it isn't their fault though

Even though the Steck Salathe is 5.9 I'm not sure I agree with the statement that it is an easy route. In a recent study of tree climbers, tree climbers with the most experience were the ones most likely to get hurt on the job. The main reason was that experienced tree climbers were the ones who were most likely to do the hardest tree climbing (removal /prune). I'm not sure how this relates to rock/alpine climbing but it's something to think about.
